Company employees have nicknamed the tokens \u201cZuck Bucks\u201d in a nod to the Facebook founder.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cZuck Bucks\u201d are expected to be a form of in-<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a> currency controlled by Meta rather than another cryptocurrency linked to blockchain <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a>, the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/50fbe9ba-32c8-4caf-a34e-234031019371\">Financial Times<\/a> reported, citing several sources familiar with the matter. <\/p>\n<p>Meta cut ties with its first doomed foray into crypto earlier this year following pushback from regulators.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed \u201cZuck Bucks\u201d would function similarly to \u201cRobux\u201d currency used to facilitate transactions on the popular children\u2019s video <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a> platform Roblox \u2013 another company dabbling in the metaverse, according to report.<\/p>\n<p>The in-app currency is one of several financial products in the works for Meta, which is aiming to build fresh revenue streams and maintain its user base despite intense competition from rivals such as TikTok. Earlier this year, the billionaire confirmed that Meta would be \u201cbringing NFTs to Instagram in the near term.\u201d The FT cited a memo indicating Faceook would launch a pilot program allowing NFTs to be shared and \u201cminted\u201d \u2013 or created \u2013 on the platform in mid-May.<\/p>\n<p>A Meta spokesperson <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2022\/4\/6\/23013896\/meta-facebook-zuck-bucks-finance-financial-services-products\">told The Verge<\/a> that the company has \u201cno updates to share today\u201d on the initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe continuously consider new product innovations for people, businesses, and creators. But the project quickly faced regulatory scrutiny, with federal officials and lawmakers citing concerns about Facebook\u2019s checkered history with user privacy and the potential impacts to the global economy.<\/p>\n<p>The Libra Association rebranded as \u201cDiem,\u201d but the Meta-backed project was forced to sell off its assets to Silvergate earlier this year after failing to gain traction with regulators.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook\u2019s attempts to refocus its business on the metaverse have drawn mixed reviews in recent months.
