Cough up a little less than $450 for the 64GB third-generation iPhone SE, and you\u2019ll receive Apple\u2019s A15 Bionic chip\u2014the same hardware used in the flagship $899.99 <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/bestbuy.7tiv.net\/c\/156932\/671509\/10014?subId1=rg&amp;subId2=113797&amp;sharedid=&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bestbuy.com%2Fsite%2Fapple-iphone-13-pro-5g-128gb-alpine-green-at-t%2F6487222.p%3FskuId%3D6487222%23anchor%3DproductVariations\">iPhone 13 Pro<\/a> (with one less GPU core). Combine that with the latest operating system (<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/732836\/whats-new-in-ios-15-ipados-15-and-macos-monterey\/\">iOS 15<\/a>) and a respectable 4GB of <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/697659\/what-is-ram-everything-you-need-to-know\/\">RAM<\/a>, and you have a mobile powerhouse that doesn\u2019t break the bank.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s noticeable, too. The iPhone SE handles modern mobile titles like a pro.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"admonishment_note\"><p><strong>Note:<\/strong> I gave this iPhone\u2019s A15 Bionic chip a test drive with demanding games like\u00a0<em>NBA 2K22 Arcade Edition<\/em>,\u00a0<em>The Oregon Trail<\/em>,\u00a0and <em>Minecraft.<\/em> While there were a few dropped frames as assets loaded in, it offered an otherwise silky smooth gaming experience.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>When it comes to storage, there are three options: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. While you can skate by on 64GB if you have an <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/775235\/what-is-cloud-storage-and-why-should-you-use-it\/\">iCloud storage<\/a> plan, I think it\u2019s worth an upgrade to the 128GB version if you have a few thousand photos and videos in your camera roll or are an avid mobile gamer. Luckily, no matter which option you choose, you should have plenty of space to store your personal data and important files.<\/p>\n<p>Productivity is a wash when it comes to the iPhone SE. The processor is a workhorse and there\u2019s definitely enough <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/697659\/what-is-ram-everything-you-need-to-know\/\">RAM<\/a> to sustain most multitasking operations, but the screen is <em>pretty<\/em> cramped. This makes pressing icons and buttons in general, like when typing or editing photos, a major pain. If you have particularly large fingers, there\u2019s likely no way you could use this phone as your daily driver for work or school. Design and display are the two main areas you\u2019ll notice effects. That\u2019s not to say the third-generation iPhone SE isn\u2019t attractive; the three beautiful color options to choose from cover a decent range of tastes and each look as good as the last. Take your pick between (PRODUCT)RED, Starlight, and Midnight.<\/p>\n<p>But if you\u2019ve gotten used to Face ID over the last few years, get used to Touch ID. And, unfortunately, a lowlight of the phone is that strange depressed Home \u201cbutton\u201d Apple is fond of. Most smartphones of today are trending towards a screen that takes up nearly 100% of the device\u2019s user-facing side\u2014but not this one. Since Apple needs space to include a Home button, their hands are somewhat tied in this regard. But that doesn\u2019t make the bezels on this phone, which take up nearly 1-inch of the device\u2019s display area, any smaller when you\u2019re watching Hulu.<\/p>\n<p>This iPhone\u2019s 750p 4.7-inch display is small, no getting around it. Games and apps that have button-based UIs are a struggle because there\u2019s just not enough screen real estate to support them. The phone\u2019s second speaker is located at the top of the phone near the front-facing camera. The audio experience from this smartphone is solid\u2014I didn\u2019t notice any crackling or inconsistency, and while its bass won\u2019t shake your house, it\u2019s more than good enough for watching videos or making conference calls.<\/p>\n<p>The iPhone SE 2022 is glass from front to back just like the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/bestbuy.7tiv.net\/c\/156932\/671509\/10014?subId1=rg&amp;subId2=113797&amp;sharedid=&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bestbuy.com%2Fsite%2Fapple-iphone-13-pro-5g-128gb-alpine-green-at-t%2F6487222.p%3FskuId%3D6487222%23anchor%3DproductVariations\">iPhone 13 Pro<\/a>, but unlike other new iPhone lineups, the SE\u2019s glass isn\u2019t protected with a\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/794705\/what-is-apples-ceramic-shield\/\">ceramic shielding<\/a>. This makes a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/791313\/best-iphone-se-case\/\">case<\/a>\u00a0almost mandatory, cutting into one of the strengths of the smartphone, its compact form factor.
