But unlikely.<\/p>\n<p>Now a Justice Department investigation may tell us whether Hunter is a sleazy opportunist who broke the law and whether his father knew or even helped.<\/p>\n<p>But equally revealing is the arrogance and bias the reporting on Hunter\u2019s laptop revealed among wide swaths of <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a> and Big Tech gatekeepers.<\/p>\n<p>Even today, most will not admit they were wrong.<\/p>\n<p>The New York Post broke the laptop\u00a0story\u00a0near the end of the presidential campaign. The story was explosive, of course, and the media pile-on intense. Some piled on Hunter Biden, but <em>more<\/em> piled on The Post. They questioned the authenticity of the hard drive and the timing and accuracy of the story.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/hunter-biden-laptop-21.jpg?w=354\" alt=\"Hunter Biden\" class=\"wp-image-21823650\" width=\"287\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/hunter-biden-laptop-21.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=281 287w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/hunter-biden-laptop-21.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=141 143w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/hunter-biden-laptop-21.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 354w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 287px) 100vw, 287px\"\/><figcaption>Many media outlets mocked The Post for revealing Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop scandal. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Twitter blocked the story from even being shared. Facebook hid the story. Politico said it might be \u201cRussian disinformation.\u201d A Washington Post column called it \u201claughably weak.\u201d A New York Times piece labeled it a \u201cfarcical retread of the Russian hack-and-leak operation that helped torpedo Hillary Clinton\u2019s presidential aspirations.\u201d The story was mocked and buried.<\/p>\n<p>Now, a year and a half later, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/30\/hunter-biden-china-laptop\/\">The Washington Post <\/a>and Times admit that major parts of the story were accurate. Do you know what they haven\u2019t said?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSorry. We cannot stand the idea of another Trump term, so we didn\u2019t report on bad things Democrats did.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Washington Post finally wrote that the way the media handled the story was an \u201copportunity for a reckoning.\u201d But then it spent the rest of its editorial making excuses for its mistakes.<\/p>\n<p>No one was fired. No one was suspended. No policy was changed.<\/p>\n<p>This is nothing new. For months, Facebook blocked any mention of the theory that COVID-19 may have leaked from a lab. Most media sneered that it was \u201cfake <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a>.\u201d The Washington Post called it \u201ca fringe theory.\u201d The New York Times, a \u201cconspiracy theory.\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.politifact.com\/factchecks\/2022\/apr\/06\/donald-trump-jr\/fbi-lost-hunter-bidens-laptop-theres-no-evidence\/\">PolitiFact<\/a> rated it \u201cPants on Fire!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Only when the Biden administration said there might have been a lab leak did Facebook drop its censorship.<\/p>\n<p>Did Facebook say, \u201cSorry? We shouldn\u2019t censor such important discussion?\u201d No.<\/p>\n<p>Did we see apologetic commentaries on CNN and MSNBC? I made two videos that suggested fears about climate change are overblown.<\/p>\n<p>I didn\u2019t say climate change isn\u2019t real. I didn\u2019t say it won\u2019t cause problems. In fact, I said it\u2019s already caused problems.<\/p>\n<p>But because I said the fear might be overblown, Facebook\u2019s climate-activist \u201cfact-checkers\u201d make sure fewer people see my work.<\/p>\n<p>I once got millions of views on Facebook. Not anymore.<\/p>\n<p>Nothing I\u2019d said in my climate videos was wrong. In one case, Facebook\u2019s own fact-checker\u00a0<em>admitted<\/em>\u00a0that I didn\u2019t get any facts wrong. Still, Facebook continues to smear my work as \u201cpartly false.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>They even quote me saying something I never said!<\/p>\n<p>Yet even after I point that out, Facebook will not make a correction.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook, Twitter, the New York Times, the Washington Post, CNN, NBC, Poynter Institute \u201cfact-checkers\u201d and most of the elite media are now part information-sharers, part leftist interest groups.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m neither a Democrat nor a Republican. I don\u2019t obsess over whether Hunter Biden got paid to do sleazy things and whisper in his father\u2019s ear. If he did, I doubt that he had much influence, anyway.<\/p>\n<p>I feel far more threatened when America\u2019s Big Media don\u2019t report facts, don\u2019t speak up when censors are wrong and don\u2019t remove mistakes when they\u2019re caught making them.<\/p>\n<p>Apologizing for mistakes is something we teach little kids to do.
