Here\u2019s What She Says\u2026<br \/>\n&#8220;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h1>\n<div itemprop=\"articleBody\" class=\"text\">\nJoke stealing is one of the worst offenses possible in the comedy world, but would <strong>Amy Schumer<\/strong> really be so bold to do it on the <strong>Oscars<\/strong> stage?<\/p>\n<p>As a matter of fact, joke stealing allegations have followed Amy as her star has risen over the years. She\u2019s always been adamant that her work is original \u2014 but in this case, her defense <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ears to be that this joke <em>wasn\u2019t<\/em> original (in that it didn\u2019t originate from her). Here\u2019s the quip that\u2019s come under question, a roast of <strong>Leonardo DiCaprio<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cHe has done so much to fight climate change and leave behind a cleaner, greener planet for his girlfriends.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Related: Amy Calls Will Smith\u2019s Oscars Slap \u2018A F**king Bummer\u2019 During Comedy Show<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The dig closely resembles a viral tweet from 2021 (although we should point out, even in that case, one of the replies included a <strong>TikTok<\/strong> of another extremely similar Leo joke).<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"und\" dir=\"ltr\"><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/2hF2GfiDTj\">https:\/\/t.co\/2hF2GfiDTj<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 gabbi \u201cgabbi boyd\u201d boyd (@GabbiBoyd) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GabbiBoyd\/status\/1474205129930784769?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 24, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>During a recent appearance on <em>Watch What Happens Live<\/em>, the comedian shut down any suggestion that she\u2019d lifted the joke from <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a>. She said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cOK. Well, I would like to say, I haven\u2019t personally been on <strong>Twitter<\/strong>. I\u2019ve had my assistant do it, just so I can remain alive and not kill myself. And also, that joke was written by <strong>Suli McCullough<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Rough stuff to be throwing another writer under the bus, but it\u2019s also no surprise that she didn\u2019t write it herself. It\u2019s common practice to have a team of writers providing material for the Oscars hosts. (The jokes she did write for the show were a lot more controversial, and ultimately cut.) The presenters get a script too, of course, although sometimes they may go off book\u2026 to mixed results.<\/p>\n<p>The 40-year-old then defended her reputation in <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>, saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cBut I thank you guys, always, for making sure that I don\u2019t start thievery. I just got to do a lie-detector test on <em>Vanity Fair<\/em> and yhey asked me, thank God, \u2018Have you ever stolen a joke?\u2019 and I said no, and it was \u2018that\u2019s true.\u2019 So, everybody just chill. It\u2019s crazy. I\u2019m funny enough, I don\u2019t need to steal s**t.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Amy actually pledged to take a polygraph on joke stealing way back in 2016, when accusations of stealing jokes from fellow female comics made headlines. (For the record, lie detector tests are actually notoriously unreliable, but that\u2019s a conversation for a different day!)<\/p>\n<p>We can\u2019t speak to Amy\u2019s full career, but the Leo joke is pretty run-of-the-mill, so we\u2019re definitely willing to give her a pass on that one. Host <strong>Andy Cohen<\/strong> really held her feet to the fire on some controversial subjects, however, going on to ask her about <strong>Louis C.K.<\/strong>\u2019s recent <strong>Grammy<\/strong> win. She replied:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI don\u2019t think it feels good. It doesn\u2019t feel good. I think it doesn\u2019t feel good.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Related: Chris Rock Joked About Will Smith AGAIN In His Latest Comedy Show!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Of course, she also dished on the infamous <strong>Will Smith<\/strong>\/<strong>Chris Rock<\/strong> slap, sharing:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI\u2019ll just say, I was backstage, and I knew I had to go out\u2026 and it really felt like the Situation Room of comedy. We were all just watching the monitor, and then he won\u2026 Everyone was just kind of floored \u2013 the whole thing. And I was just thinking, what am I going to do when I go out there? \u2026 It really changed the air in the room!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The momma of one also revealed that she had donated her (apparently meager) $15,000 earnings for the hosting gig to <strong>Planned Parenthood<\/strong>.
