Academy \u2018Completely Split\u2019 Over Harsh Decision!<br \/>\n&#8220;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h1>\n<div itemprop=\"articleBody\" class=\"text\">\nThe fate of whether <strong>Will Smith<\/strong> will get to keep his award for Best Actor will be revealed on Friday \u2014 well, once the <strong>Academy<\/strong> makes up its mind!<\/p>\n<p>By now, you know that the 53-year-old <em>Independence Day<\/em> actor smacked <strong>Chris Rock<\/strong> across the face on the <strong>Oscars<\/strong> stage after a tasteless joke about <strong>Jada Pinkett Smith<\/strong>\u2019s shaved head (something she\u2019s very sensitive about as she\u2019s been open about her struggle with alopecia). Moments after the shocking incident, he took the stage to accept the Best Actor prize for his role in <em>King Richard<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, the fallout from the slap has been pretty bad for Will, as he has seen his upcoming projects placed on the back burner. However, it could get messier for the r<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>er depending on how the Academy rules during their hearing on the assault.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: Will Smith\u2019s \u2018Biggest Fear\u2019 Amid Oscars Slap Fallout Revealed\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <em>Fresh Prince of Bel-Air<\/em> alum has already resigned from the organization, meaning suspension and expulsion are out of the question at this time. But if that was a move to get out ahead of the punishment, he may have made things worse. Obviously the Academy has been trying to save face in the wake of the incident, to the point of making the questionable claim that they tried to remove him from the ceremony \u2014 something that seems clearly untrue.<\/p>\n<p>So now they seem to have moved on to deciding whether to take the shocking and unprecedented move of TAKING BACK his award! And it sounds like they are having some trouble coming to an agreement\u2026<\/p>\n<p>While the Academy was supposed to meet on April 18, that meeting ended up being fast-tracked to Friday to determine further disciplinary actions to take against Will. Following a couple of calls with \u201cvarious members, and specific governors over the past ten days\u201d before Friday\u2019s meeting, a source told<em> The Sun<\/em> that the 54 board members are \u201ccompletely split\u201d 50-50 over what to do. They said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe members \u2013 of which there are over 9,000, with hundreds of <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WhatsApp<\/a> groups flying about \u2013 are completely split.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In fact, the governors \u201care also said to be in disagreement\u201d about the matter, noting that the board believes it would be hypocritical to confiscate Will\u2019s award since \u201cconvicted sexual predator <strong>Harvey Weinstein<\/strong> and fugitive child rapist<strong> Roman Polanski<\/strong>\u201d have not had their Oscars taken away. We mean\u2026 YEAH! As the source lamented:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cBut, as we all know, Hollywood is a law unto itself, frankly.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>So what does this mean? This would be the first time the Academy ever took back an Oscar as punishment for an action that had nothing to do with the film.<\/p>\n<p>Will <em>The<\/em> <em>Pursuit of Happiness <\/em>star become the second person ever to have his Oscars to be rescinded?
