The 37-year-old artist was taken into custody and then gave a prepared statement denying allegations of assault. He claimed his ex-finac\u00e9e had actually assaulted him because he had banged his head on the fridge a few times.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday (April 8), District Judge\u00a0Polly Gledhill at Croydon Magistrates\u2019 Court in south London informed Rascal, full name Dylan Kwabena Mills, that he must wear an electronic tag for 24-weeks and observe a nightly curfew. The rapper will also have a 12-month restraining order placed upon him so he can\u2019t go near Jones.<\/p>\n<div class=\"p-message_pane_message__message_label c-message_kit__labels c-message_kit__labels--light\">\n<div class=\"c-message_kit__gutter\">\n<div class=\"c-message_kit__gutter__right\" role=\"presentation\" data-qa=\"message_content\">\n<div class=\"c-message_kit__blocks c-message_kit__blocks--rich_text\">\n<div class=\"c-message__message_blocks c-message__message_blocks--rich_text\" data-qa=\"message-text\">\n<div class=\"p-block_kit_renderer\" data-qa=\"block-kit-renderer\">\n<div class=\"p-block_kit_renderer__block_wrapper p-block_kit_renderer__block_wrapper--first\">\n<div class=\"p-rich_text_block\" dir=\"auto\">\n<div class=\"p-rich_text_section\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Gledhill concluded by saying Rascal demonstrated \u201cno remorse for this matter\u201d and said throughout the trial he continued \u201cto place the blame on Ms. Jones \u2014 the victim in this case.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dizzee Rascal is considered to be one of grime\u2019s founding fathers. He released his debut\u00a0<em>Boy In Da Corner<\/em> in 2003, which went on to win a Mercury Prize and is now considered a classic of the grime subgenre.
