The Emmy-winning Hulu drama is currently in production in Toronto with Elisabeth Moss and showrunner Bruce Miller at the helm for what could be its final season.<\/p>\n<p>The cast and crew of the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> have shared some details about Season 5, plus exciting casting announcements have recently been made, all building up momentum for what\u2019s bound to be a gripping string of episodes.<\/p>\n<p>Here, we break down everything we know about <em>The Handmaid\u2019s Tale <\/em>Season 5 so far.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Handmaids_Tale_Season_5_Cast\"><\/span><em>The Handmaid\u2019s Tale<\/em> Season 5 Cast<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Expect to see your favorite series regulars in <em>The Handmaid\u2019s Tale<\/em> Season 5 cast. Elisabeth Moss, Yvonne Strahovski, Max Minghella, Ann Dowd, Samira Wiley, O-T Fagbenle, Alexis Bledel, Bradley Whitford, Madeline Brewer, Amanda Brugel, and Sam Jaeger should all be part of the new season. It\u2019s likely that Joseph Fiennes will re<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ear as Commander Fred Waterford in flashback form. And though not confirmed, Mckenna Grace will likely appear again as Esther Keyes, who went from Gilead wife to Handmaid in the whirlwind Season 4.<\/p>\n<div id=\"2404179_node_9\" class=\"ng-binding ng-scope\">\n<p>That whirlwind season ended with June and other liberated Handmaids brutally killing Fred in a Gilead-style salvaging. Miller told <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-features\/handmaids-tale-season-4-finale-bruce-miller-interview-season-five-1234969092\/\"><em>The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a> after the June 2021 finale that Fred \u201cdying doesn\u2019t mean Joe stops coming and being part of the cast. We do have quite a heavy flashback show.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Christine Ko is joining <em>The Handmaid\u2019s Tale<\/em> Season 5 cast in an exciting new recurring role. The <em>Dave<\/em> and <em>Hawaii Five-0 <\/em>alum will play Lily, a former Martha and Gilead refugee who has become a leader of Canada\u2019s resistance movement. And according to Miller, viewers will get to see Serena Joy Waterford\u2019s reaction to Fred\u2019s death. (In the finale, June mailed Fred\u2019s finger and wedding ring to the still-imprisoned Serena. We saw her opening the package, but nothing more. To say we\u2019re chomping at the bit to see her full reaction is an understatement.)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think she does not like to lose and she\u2019s lost to June,\u201d Miller told TV Insider after the explosive finale. \u201cAnd I think she feels directly like June took something from her, did something to her. That war is escalating between those two women, those two very intelligent women who were in a situation where the amount of venom that Serena threw June\u2019s way was so irredeemably awful that now these two women are kind of circling each other and one is full of rage from that treatment and the other is full of rage\/just competitiveness over excising her powerful husband from the world. That\u2019s really interesting because I think that she has a route to personal power off of the reflected power of Fred in an easier way than she\u2019s had in the past.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While June will be on the warpath to get Hannah out of Gilead, get her revenge on Serena, and topple the oppressive regime, she\u2019ll be struggling internally with her choices in the finale.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know if she\u2019s on her way to closure. The point of view I take is always, what does June feel? Not whether I think she\u2019s on the edge of closure, but I think for her, she feels like she\u2019s turned down a bad road and can never turn back,\u201d Miller said. \u201cShe feels like she\u2019s made a decision that she is an avenging murderous person, not a mom. Whether or not that sticks, whether or not she is able to get over that decision, I think right now she feels pretty seriously broken and probably unfixable at this stage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for the Aunt everyone loves to hate, Dowd says the scripts she\u2019s seen for Season 5 shocked her in a thrilling way.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve read the first couple of episodes and all I can say is they\u2019re so good,\u201d she told <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/arts-entertainment\/tv\/news\/handmaids-tale-season-5-ann-dowd-b1998073.html\"><em>The Independent<\/em><\/a>. \u201cI just didn\u2019t see any of this stuff coming. To be able to get to Season 5 and you\u2019re thinking, \u2018What?!\u2019 Not in an outlandish way where you\u2019re thinking, \u2018Wait a minute, how could that happen?\u2019 It\u2019s like: \u2018[gasps] that is <em>fantastic<\/em>.\u2019 It\u2019s really good. While the specific details of <em>The Handmaid\u2019s Tale <\/em>Season 5 are largely under wraps, June has powerful allies in Gilead through Nick and Commander Lawrence, which she and Lily could use to their advantage, should they team up. It\u2019s possible June will try to liberate Janine and Esther from Gilead, in addition to her and Luke\u2019s daughter, Hannah, now living in Colorado.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll hopefully get to see more or Moira and Emily\u2019s humanitarian efforts as well, and we\u2019d love to see Luke get involved in the resistance efforts like he does in <em>The Testaments \u2014 <\/em>Margaret Atwood\u2019s sequel novel to the original <em>Handmaid\u2019s Tale <\/em>book. Also, here\u2019s hoping there are more appearances from Cherry Jones as June\u2019s mother, Holly! (We wouldn\u2019t <em>hate it<\/em> if it turned out she was actually alive\u2026)<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Handmaids_Tale_Season_5_Release_Date\"><\/span><em>The Handmaid\u2019s Tale<\/em> Season 5 Release Date<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>There\u2019s no official release date just yet, but <em>The Handmaid\u2019s Tale<\/em> Season 5 is slated to come out in 2022. Stay tuned with TV Insider for more updates on this front.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Will_The_Handmaids_Tale_Season_5_Be_Its_Last\"><\/span>Will <em>The Handmaid\u2019s Tale<\/em> Season 5 Be Its Last?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><em>The Handmaid\u2019s Tale<\/em> could very well conclude with Season 5, but nothing is set in stone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re having conversations right now about what the future of <em>The Handmaid\u2019s Tale<\/em> holds,\u201d Jordan Helman, head of scripted content for Hulu Originals, told <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2021\/tv\/news\/handmaids-tale-pen15-renewals-hulu-viewership-1235036385\/\"><em>Variety<\/em><\/a>. \u201cWhat [executive producers] Bruce [Miller], Warren [Littlefield], and Lizzie [Moss] have delivered for us over the course of the past several years really warrants a tremendous amount of trust both ways.
