An additional metal splitter is mounted on the outside of the screen.<\/p>\n<p>In the video, fellow driver Jack Harvey can be seen crashing ahead of Illot during practice at Texas Motor Speedway in March as they are both <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a>ing over 200 mph. Illott then weaves through several large sections of Harvey\u2019s car before a pushrod jumps up and hits the screen, glancing off it without causing any damage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t share this type stuff often \u2014 but this incredibly high-tech <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a> changer did its job again \u2014 thanks again for incredible effort to all involved getting it done,\u201d IndyCar president Jay Frye <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JayRFrye\/status\/1511896974735278082?s=20&amp;t=xJ_pprOAjhPGAi0i0xCyNg\">tweeted with the video<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"\/>\n<p>It\u2019s not the first time the Aeroscreen has saved the day. During the 2021 season opener in Alabama, Ryan Hunter-Reay\u2019s car was hit by a wheel and tire assembly that would\u2019ve hit his head in the old open cockpit-style cars.<\/p>\n<p>Formula One also uses a Halo device that\u2019s like the Aeroscreen\u2019s frame without the screen attached, which protected Mercedes driver\u00a0Lewis Hamilton from being crushed\u00a0when the Red Bull of Max Verstappen landed on top of it at the Italian Grand Prix last season.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
