Yet \u201cBiden\u2019s messaging has changed\u201d in recent weeks. Now, he has forged a \u201cnew alliance\u201d with \u201cfar-left\u201d politicians, offering \u201cbureaucratic gobbledygook\u201d instead of clear policy ideas and kowtowing to \u201cactivists who want to \u2018defund the police,\u2019\u200a\u201d neither of which <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>eals to the \u201cmiddle-class voters\u201d he needs to win over in November. President Trump, meanwhile, \u201cis following in the footsteps of Ronald Reagan\u201d to appeal to those voters, who \u201ccould easily lift Trump to a second term.\u201d If that happens, \u201cDemocrats will have only themselves to blame.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pandemic_journal_Debunking_the_Lockdown_Myth\"><\/span><strong>Pandemic journal: Debunking the Lockdown Myth<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>\u201cFrom the beginning of time,\u201d humans have used myths to \u201cmake sense of a chaotic natural world,\u201d Stacey Rudin recounts at RealClearPolitics. One such is the claim that lockdowns stop pandemics. \u201cDecades of evidence,\u201d in fact, prove that lockdowns rarely, if ever, work, and even Imperial College London\u2019s \u201cdire projections\u201d admitted lockdowns would only \u201cdelay\u201d infections. The real solution is \u201cherd immunity, preferably sooner than later,\u201d as Sweden\u2019s anti-lockdown experiment has proved: The country\u2019s per-capita 2020 mortality rate is \u201capproximately 290 per million\u201d above average, while \u201clockdown-loving New Jersey\u2019s is almost 1,900 per million\u201d above average. Politicians, however, love lockdowns, which allow them to \u201ctake credit\u201d for \u201cCOVID-19 \u2018results\u2019\u200a\u201d \u2014 just as tribal leaders once took credit for precipitation after ordering rain dances.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Libertarian_States_Need_Tough_Love\"><\/span><strong>Libertarian: States Need Tough Love<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>State and local governments that want \u201c$500 billion\u201d more in \u201cbailout cash\u201d should really \u201cstart fending for themselves,\u201d snarks Reason\u2019s Veronique de Rugy. Among other things, they\u2019ve already \u201creceived large amounts of federal funds to pay for their coronavirus-related expenditures,\u201d and bailing them out will only curb their incentive to \u201cplan better for the next time around.\u201d Meanwhile, several states haven\u2019t been \u201cgetting the money to local governments,\u201d with many not spending any of their bailout money yet. They also want \u201cmore flexibility\u201d in using the funds, but they simply shouldn\u2019t \u201cbe asking federal taxpayers\u201d to pay for non-coronavirus-related expenditures. Instead of relying on Uncle Sam, states should figure out how to become \u201chealthier and more responsible\u201d on their own.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sports_take_BLM_and_LeBrons_Willie_Horton\"><\/span><strong>Sports take: BLM and LeBron\u2019s Willie Horton<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>LeBron James, who rails against President Trump and campaigned for Hillary Clinton in 2016, is \u201ca political activist\u201d whose \u201cmagic trick is the left-wing dog whistle affectionately referred to as the race card,\u201d charges Jason Whitlock at Outkick. James, Black Lives Matter and the Democratic Party are now using George Floyd much in the way George H.W. Bush used \u201cblack career criminal Willie Horton.\u201d Horton was serving a life sentence and raped a woman while out on furlough back then, and Bush made him \u201cthe star\u201d of his 1988 campaign \u2014 just as Floyd \u201cis the star of this election cycle.\u201d It\u2019s all \u201cdivisive racial politics devoid of truth,\u201d laments Whitlock. He \u201cdidn\u2019t like it when Republicans exploited\u201d Horton. And \u201cthe exploitation of George Floyd is just as repulsive.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Culture_desk_Americans_Need_More_Intimacy\"><\/span><strong>Culture desk: Americans Need More Intimacy<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>\u201cWhy are Americans so lonely?\u201d asks Matthew Walther at The Week. Even before the lockdowns, \u201c60-some percent of adults in this country\u201d reported \u201cfeeling lonely, and data suggests that these figures are trending upward.\u201d Walther believes \u201cworkplace culture\u201d has something to do with it.
