Chrome OS has a similar feature to \u201cTask View\u201d on Windows 10 and 11. Chrome OS calls it \u201cOverview.\u201d Let\u2019s use it.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cOverview\u201d screen on Chromebooks is part of the \u201cVirtual Desktops\u201d feature. It\u2019s simply a way to literally zoom out and see all the apps and windows you have open. From there, you can jump to one of the windows or switch to a different virtual \u201cDesk\u201d as well.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RELATED:<\/strong> <strong><em>How to Use Virtual Desktops on Chrome OS<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are actually three different methods for launching the \u201cOverview\u201d screen: keyboard shortcut, trackpad gesture, and touchscreen gesture. We\u2019ll show you all three.<\/p>\n<p>If your Chromebook has a keyboard, there\u2019s a dedicated key in the top row for \u201cOverview.\u201d Simply tap the key with an icon that looks like a square followed by two vertical lines. With three fingers, swipe up from the bottom of the trackpad. Swipe up from the line in the taskbar and hold for a second in the middle of the screen. Lift your finger to see the \u201cOverview\u201d screen.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s it! These three shortcuts will get you in and out of the \u201cOverview\u201d screen in a hurry. It\u2019s a nice little trick to take a step back and see what\u2019s going on.
