The red-headed humorist had garnered the award \u2014 his third ever \u2014 for the recording of his special \u201cSincerely Louis C.K,\u201d in which he poked fun at his own sexual harassment allegations. <\/p>\n<p>The \u201cLouie\u201d creator self-released the special for $7.99 on his website after Netflix, HBO and FX <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/article\/canceled-celebrities-where-are-they-now\/\">severed ties with the comedian<\/a> in 2017 amid the scandal.<\/p>\n<p>The Emmy-winner had been accused by five women \u2014 including Wolov \u2014 of <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2017\/11\/09\/louis-c-k-accused-of-sexual-misconduct-by-five-women\/\">exposing himself and masturbating <\/a>in front of them without consent. C.K. later confirmed the allegations to be \u201ctrue,\u201d saying \u201cwhen you have power over another person, asking them to look at your dick isn\u2019t a question. It\u2019s a predicament for them.\u201d <\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>\u201cThe power I had over these women is that they admired me,\u201d the \u201cHorace and Pete\u201d star added. \u201cAnd I wielded that power irresponsibly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wolov believed that C.K.\u2019s accolade proved that the #MeToo movement didn\u2019t have as much cultural resonance as she thought.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNobody cares. That\u2019s the message this sends,\u201d said Wolov, who had reportedly fled from the \u201cBlue Jasmine\u201d actor after he masturbated in front of her at a comedy festival in 2002. \u201cIt really does. That\u2019s the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The actress continued, \u201cWouldn\u2019t it be nice if people would not be rewarded for bad behavior? But what are you supposed to do? These people voted for him. He\u2019s touring. He\u2019s selling out. He\u2019s winning Grammys.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote alignleft\">\n<blockquote><p>\u2018Whoever the decision-makers are, is it that necessary that you have to work with this person who has been showing his d\u2013k to everyone in town?\u2019<\/p>\n<p><cite>Julia Wolov, one of Louis C.K.\u2019s five sexual harassment accusers<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Despite her criticism, Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. says that the music institution won\u2019t stop certain artists from submitting content.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe won\u2019t look back at people\u2019s history, we won\u2019t look at their criminal record, we won\u2019t look at anything other than the legality within our rules of, is this recording for this work eligible based on date and other criteria?\u201d the music executive told <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrap.com\/grammys-chief-on-noms-for-marilyn-manson-louis-ck-we-wont-look-at-peoples-history\/\">the Wrap.\u00a0<\/a> \u201cIf it is, they can submit for consideration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The lack of consequences is perhaps doubly disheartening considering the backlash Wolov and her fellow C.K. accusers received following the allegations. Some have reportedly even accused the quintet of trying to cash in on the comedian\u2019s fame.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course, his fans will say it\u2019s because we\u2019re not funny or we\u2019re gold diggers \u2014 that\u2019s my favorite, like, we got so rich from this,\u201d she said. \u201cPeople will say we want attention. Trust me, this is not the attention that I ever hoped for.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>And while still undecided on an appropriate punishment, Wolov called on the Hollywood powers that be to refrain from employing C.K., saying: \u201cWhoever the decision-makers are, is it that necessary that you have to work with this person who has been showing his d\u2013k to everyone in town?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She found it anathema that so many people wanted to work with the controversial comic given that there \u201care so many funny people\u201d out there.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, Wolov rued the fact that while entertainment giants like Disney might no longer employ the \u201cAmerican Hustle\u201d actor, a \u201clittle black box comedy club can do whatever they want.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEveryone is about the bottom line,\u201d the \u201cJust Go With It\u201d actress said.  \u201cIf Louis can sell tickets for a small comedy club, then they will.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, just last year, C.K. embarked on a sold-out 24-city comedy tour of the US, Variety reported.<\/p>\n<p>Wolov summed up the situation like this: \u201cIf people want to see them, good for them. Who is going to tell him he can\u2019t go onstage? I\u2019m not. I really don\u2019t care what he does. It makes no difference to me. All I can do or say is live and be well far away from me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>C.K. isn\u2019t the only one accused of getting distinguished amid scandal. <\/p>\n<p>Many social media users felt it was hypocritical for the Academy to penalize Will Smith following for the \u201cHitch\u201d slap after failing to jettison accused sex abuser Roman Polanski for more 40 years after the alleged act.
