One time, Heard \u201cgot very angry\u201d because they were lying around, James claimed, adding:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cShe went absolutely ballistic. Screaming, yelling, abuse. [It was a] blind rage.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>James went on to claim that Heard would \u201cscream over the phone\u201d at her and subjected her to \u201cbarrages of abusive text messages day and night,\u201d continuing:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe middle of the night I think, between 2 and 4 a.m. the barrage would start. All incoherent, not making sense, just someone to lash out at. No apparent reason to it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>One particularly disconcerting moment came when James was negotiating her salary with Heard as she was switching from part time to full time work. When James asked for a fair salary given her experience, she alleged Amber totally lost her cool, telling jurors:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cShe leapt up out of my chair, put face four inches from my face, telling me how dare I ask the salary I was asking for. She felt that gave her the right to spit in my face.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Like we said, not a flattering portrait. And to make matters worse, Amber was seen smirking in court as Kate was detailing this anecdote:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Kate James recalls one verbal abuse incident with Amber Heard:<br \/>&#8220;I was standing in her office, she put her face approximately 4 inches to my face, she was spitting in my face telling me how I dare asking for the salary I was asking for.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>In the courtroom, Heard was smirking. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/5Eq7ZE9UGU\">pic.twitter.com\/5Eq7ZE9UGU<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Sienna (@winonasrider) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/winonasrider\/status\/1514627865958133760?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 14, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>She noted that the $50,000 she asked for was half her usual salary, adding:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cA handyman who witnessed the whole thing was \u2018mortified\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>James then said Heard was mean to her sister <strong>Whitney<\/strong> and treated her \u201clike a dog you kick.\u201d Worse still, James said Heard\u2019s own mother was \u201cterrified\u201d because she was abusive to her, too. The professional assistant said Heard \u201cbecame more and more belligerent and abusive\u201d when she was intoxicated.<\/p>\n<p>As for the actress\u2019 dynamic with Johnny, James claimed that Amber was insecure about her relationship because she \u201cdidn\u2019t like to be away from Johnny\u2019s physical presence\u201d \u2014 however, Heard allegedly didn\u2019t like hanging out with Depp\u2019s friends, either. She said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cShe told me she didn\u2019t like hanging out in his house with his friends because it was boring and they were all old men playing guitars and it wasn\u2019t interesting to her.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>When asked about her impression of Depp, James said he was \u201cpeaceful, almost shy, very quiet\u201d and described him as a \u201ctotal Southern gentleman.\u201d She claimed she never saw him lose his temper and that he was \u201calways completely passive.\u201d James said she used to chat with Johnny, but would \u201cstop im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely when Amber saw me talking to him and would give me the evil eye.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>James later discussed the day in Mary 2016 when Heard arrived in Los Angeles having flown from Boston, where Johnny was supposedly abusive and drunk towards her. She claimed Heard went straight to the <strong>Chateau Marmont<\/strong> hotel to meet up with friends, and described the atmosphere as \u201ca little conspiratorial,\u201d adding that it was \u201clike a strategy meeting, combined with a pool party.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked about the incident by Heard\u2019s lawyer <strong>Benjamin Rottenborn<\/strong>, James said she wasn\u2019t concerned for Heard\u2019s well-being at the time because \u201cit had become a pattern with her, I was merely placating her.\u201d She recalled:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThey proceeded to hang out all day drinking while I sat around waiting with my son. We had to wait all day while they hung around drinking by the pool. Finally I went home.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>At 10 p.m. that Sunday night, Heard allegedly asked James to pack her bags. James remembered:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI said I couldn\u2019t go and pack her bag, I had put my son to bed. She was very angry. It was standard procedure at this point. She was a very dramatic person.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>When asked if she ever saw any injuries, cuts, bruises, swelling or redness to the actresses face, James said, \u201cNo,\u201d adding that she \u201cnever\u201d saw Heard with black eyes or clumps of hair ripped out of her head. During cross-examination, James\u2019 testimony got a bit\u2026 <em>testy<\/em>. When Rottenborn suggested she was paid $1,500 a week, James said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAre you kidding. I wish, my god. She paid me $25 an hour to start with\u2026 She finally agreed after screaming abuse at me to pay $50,000 and this is after me working for 10 years as a personal assistant (during her career). It was very insulting to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>When asked when she first realized all \u201cwasn\u2019t right in the relationship\u201d between Heard and Depp, James said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI don\u2019t recall when it started. Usually her complaining and crying due to insecurities within the relationship. She would be very, very insecure a lot of the time and call me up crying.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>James admitted that the end of her job was a \u201cbit of a shock, the feeling of being blindsided,\u201d adding that she asked Depp to live rent free in one of his houses.<\/p>\n<p>While she agreed with Rottenborn that she was in \u201cfairly significant financial trouble\u201d at the time, she denied Rottenborn\u2019s suggestion that she had \u201cnothing but animosity\u201d towards Heard after they parted ways professionally, adding:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAny close relationship has ebbs and flows, it\u2019s pretty standard.
