early universe, according to NASA.<\/p>\n<p>This discovery has been labeled a \u201ccrucial missing link\u201d as it could help us to understand the connection between the first supermassive black holes and young galaxies.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/image-feature\/finding-the-origins-of-supermassive-black-holes\">NASA explained:<\/a> \u201cAstronomers have identified a rapidly growing black hole in the early universe that is considered a crucial \u201cmissing link\u201d between young star-forming galaxies and the first supermassive black holes, using data from the Hubble Space Telescope to make this discovery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The US space agency also released an artistic impression of a supermassive black hole as well as an image taken by the Hubble Space Telescope.<\/p>\n<p>NASA continued: \u201cThis artist\u2019s impression is of a supermassive black hole that is inside the dust-shrouded core of a vigorously star-forming \u201cstarburst\u201d galaxy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will eventually become an extremely bright quasar once the dust is gone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDiscovered in a Hubble deep-sky survey, the dusty black hole dates back to only 750 million years after the Big Bang.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Quasars are extremely bright objects in the universe that are said to be powered by black holes.<\/p>\n<p>NASA has nicknamed the black hole GNz7q and said it\u2019s been lurking like a \u201cmonster\u201d in a well-studied area of the sky.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"credit\">REUTERS\/NASA<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Current theories predict that black holes start their lives in dusty starburst galaxies before becoming quasars.<\/p>\n<p>GNz7q has qualities of both and this is why it\u2019s being labeled as a \u201cmissing link\u201d that could help to prove the theory.<\/p>\n<p>The black hole is said to date back to a time when the universe was only 750 million years old.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>Experts think the universe is now about 14 billion years old.<\/p>\n<p>Seiji Fujimoto, lead author of the Nature paper describing this discovery, said: \u201cOur analysis suggests that GNz7q is the first example of a rapidly growing black hole in the dusty core of a starburst galaxy at an epoch close to the earliest supermassive black hole known in the universe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe object\u2019s properties across the electromagnetic spectrum are in excellent agreement with predictions from theoretical simulations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fujimoto said the black hole \u201cprovides a new avenue toward understanding the rapid growth of supermassive black holes in the early days of the universe\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Adding: \u201cOur discovery provides an example of precursors to the supermassive black holes we observe at later epochs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>This story originally <a
