\n Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa slammed \u201cmissing in action\u201d NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea for letting the West Side run wild, and vowed to do his job if the city\u2019s \u201coblivious\u201d Top Cop doesn\u2019t put a lid on crime and chaos.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is mind boggling what is happ<\/a>ening to our city. We are here to fill the void,\u201d Sliwa said Saturday, calling the indifference \u201can FU to the city of New York.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe GOP mayoral contender also ripped City Councilwoman Helen Rosenthal, calling her a \u201cpuppet\u201d for not objecting to the three new homeless shelters jammed with junkies and sex offenders.<\/p>\n

Sliwa\u2019s tongue-lashing of dithering city officials included his own plan to step up patrols starting tomorrow.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe most ironic thing is the police commissioner, Dermot Shea, lives right on West 73rd between Columbus and Amsterdam. He does nothing! People have gone to his apartment and complained. Nothing! You call the cops and they don\u2019t respond, so we have to try to contain the problem,\u201d Sliwa fumed.<\/p>\n

The Guardian Angel activist\u2019s plan calls for assigning 60 people to the Upper West Side in different shifts.<\/p>\n

Said Sliwa: \u201cThat\u2019s a hell of a lot more than the NYPD has assigned here. I\u2019ll go to the precinct, I\u2019ll even go to Dermot Shea\u2019s apartment and say, \u2018Hey, you live here in the neighborhood, I live in the neighborhood, why do we have to do this? This should be an NYPD responsibility.\u2019 But it\u2019s not.\u201d<\/p>\n

The NYPD and Rosenthal did not immedia<\/a>tely respond to messages.<\/p>\n

The Lucerne, on 79th Street and Amsterdam, the Hotel Belleclaire, on 76th Street and Broadway, and the Belnord, on West 87th, were recently converted into homeless shelters, with nearly 300 vagrants between them. Among the residents are six pedophiles, including convicted rapists and child molesters.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re supposed to be doing security in the area. Whether it\u2019s Department of Homeless Services cops or private security and they\u2019re not doing that, the community is telling me,\u201d Sliwa fumed, noting the riff raff are \u201cpouring out into the community and all the problems that would normally take place in a shelter are now condensed in the area, and it\u2019s just affected everything. It\u2019s been two weeks like that. No notice, no discussion.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also blasted the hotel owners as \u201cfriends of (Mayor) de Blasio\u201d who have doubled their rates at the taxpayers\u2019 expense.<\/p>\n

Sliwa claimed councilwoman Rosenthal \u201cjust folded like a cheap camera on this! The community has reached out to us and they say they want us to patrol.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sliwa said his plan was to contain the mayhem, because \u201ca lot of the single, able-bodied men, they\u2019re getting rowdy, they\u2019re acting out, they\u2019re dealing with emotional issues and there\u2019s nobody to calm them down. They\u2019re passing out on the sidewalk and smoking K2.\u201d<\/p>\n

The bottom line? \u201cThe drug dealers are here! Young men, they\u2019re coming in to sell them pills and K2. We\u2019ve got to start tracking all that down. Who are the dealers, what are the drug they\u2019re selling \u2026 and crack down to the best of our ability,\u201d Sliwa said.<\/p>\n

He warned that \u201cpeople have to patrol and organize their neighborhoods and areas in order to maintain their quality of life. If they don\u2019t, people will abandon New York City and it will easily become a ghost town. We are here to prevent that from happening.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
