\n To Charles Oakley, Michael Jordan the owner and Michael Jordan the former teammate are two different things.<\/p>\n

So when Jordan tried to help de-escalate the feud between Oakley and James Dolan in 2017 \u2014 calling for a talk with the two and commissioner Adam Silver after the ex-Knick was arrested and charged with assault following an incident at the Garden \u2014 Oakley didn\u2019t fully app<\/a>reciate it.<\/p>\n

\u201cMichael Jordan shouldn\u2019t have gotten involved,\u201d Oakley, who was teammates with Jordan for three years on the Bulls, said in a recent interview with VLADTV. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t nothing for him to do. He\u2019s an owner now. So basically it\u2019s, yeah, we had a conversation but his conversation\u2019s not helping me because you\u2019re working with the owners now. I\u2019m just a regular guy on the street now. So what could he say to turn it around? It wasn\u2019t nothing that needed to be turned around.<\/p>\n

\u201cI called him and told him, it\u2019s nothing that you can do for us. \u2026 So I\u2019m glad he always had my back but it\u2019s just a situation that this man [Dolan] is 1,000 percent wrong what he did and he didn\u2019t get punished for nothing \u2014 yet.\u201d<\/p>\n

Oakley sued Dolan and Madison Square Garden for defamation, assault and false imprisonment in September of 2017 but the civil lawsuit was dismissed in February. Oakley has since filed an appeal and said he is hoping for an order from the court by September.<\/p>\n

The incident in question came at a Knicks game<\/a> in February of 2017 when Oakley was ejected after a scuffle with security that stemmed from him allegedly heckling Dolan. He was later cleared of charges but Dolan banned him from the Garden and said the former fan favorite \u201cmay have a problem with alcohol.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was some B.S. what happened,\u201d Oakley said. \u201cI was only there for like eight minutes. For someone to blame me for doing something I didn\u2019t do and you as the owner, you put all these bad statements out [that] I have an anger management problem, I have a drinking problem. I played in New York 10 years, ain\u2019t none of this came nowhere. All of a sudden you say I was sitting too close to you, now you want to put me on the bus. It\u2019s just some B.S.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just hard for me to get over something. It hurt my aunts, my mother who raised me, knowing I was never a trouble guy. But someone messes with me, I got the right to mess with them.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
