Cointelegraph contacted Minister O\u2019Brien and the Standards In Public Office Commission for comment but did not im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely hear back.<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Brien started his campaign to reform the laws in January 2022, establishing a task force of political scientists and legal experts to investigate new election laws due to concerns about the escalating Russia-Ukraine war.<\/p>\n<p>The task force advised on a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> of measures that would build a \u201clegal and digital bulwark\u201d against election interference in the country, including parties providing streamlined accountancy reporting and declarations on adherence to the new political funding laws.<\/p>\n<p>The banning of crypto political donations isn\u2019t unheard of, the state of California banned the practice in 2018 citing issues of transparency and that cryptocurrencies are \u201chard to track\u201d. Three other U.S. states, Oregon, Michigan, and North Carolina, also have laws against using cryptocurrencies in campaign financing according to data from <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.multistate.us\/insider\/2022\/3\/9\/cryptocurrency-in-campaign-finance-the-future-is-here\">Multistate<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related: <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Crypto-focused PAC has used $9M to support Democratic candidates since January<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Irish central bank has taken an unfriendly <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roach to crypto in the past, as recently as February the bank stated it was unlikely to approve investment funds with exposure to crypto for retail investors as they lack a \u201chigh degree of expertise\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The Central Bank of Ireland also issued a warning to consumers the following month on crypto assets, advising them to be mindful of \u201cthe risks of misleading advertisements, particularly on social media, where influencers are being paid to advertise crypto assets.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
