<i>Freakout\/Release<\/i> is the group&#8217;s eighth studio effort and is accompanied by &#8220;Down,&#8221; which can be streamed below. The song features a sample of Universal Togetherness Band\u2019s \u201cMore Than Enough\u201d and comes with a video directed by Douglas Hart and Steve Mackey. <\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            <i>Freakout\/Release<\/i> is due August 19 and was written and recorded in the band\u2019s Relax &amp; Enjoy studio in East London. It is the follow-up to 2019\u2019s <i>A Bath Full Of Ecstasy<\/i>. Guests on the album include Cadence Weapon (on &#8220;The Evil That Men Do&#8221;) and Lou Hayter, who sings on &#8220;Hard to Be Funky.&#8221; Soulwax, meanwhile, co-produced the album title track. <\/p>\n<p>            <iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Hot Chip - Down (Official Video)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/M8QdB1w-pXo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>A press release notes that the band&#8217;s cover of Beastie Boys&#8217; &#8220;Sabotage,&#8221; a regular in their live sets, acted as an unlikely influence on the direction of the album. &#8220;The idea of being out of control is always there in dance music, in a positive sense,&#8221; Al Doyle says in a statement. Joe Goddard, meanwhile, adds: &#8220;We were living through a period where it was very easy to feel like people were losing control of their lives in different ways.
