Maynor stands accused of killing the 81-year-old woman at her Beverly Hills home last December but <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>arently doesn\u2019t have much remorse for the crime. According to the<em><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2022-04-18\/man-convicted-of-jacqueline-avants-murder-laughed-about-it-bragged-he-get-out-of-prison-thanks-to-da\"> Los Angeles Times,<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>court records show he shot her in the back and later \u201claughed and bragged\u201d about the senseless slaying from during a jailhouse phone call.<\/p>\n<p>District Attorney George Gasc\u00f3n is seeking 150 years to life for the murder with a three-strikes enhancement, plus a consecutive 43-year term for other crimes. But Maynor allegedly bragged to his friend he\u2019d \u201conly serve 20 to 25 years\u201d because Los Angeles County prosecutors failed to file special circumstances murder that could have resulted in life without parole or the death penalty.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a horrific, tragic crime the impact of which continues to traumatize her family and the greater community,\u201d Gasc\u00f3n said. \u201cI wanted to hold him accountable but at the same time avoid a painful trial for the family\u2026 Mr. Maynor has been in the system since 12. After all, Avant was a noted philanthropist, political activist and the wife of legendary music executive Clarence Avant, also known as the \u201cBlack Godfather,\u201d and the murder was headline <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The woman on the phone replied, \u201cThat\u2019s not funny. That somebody\u2019s life.\u201d\u00a0Maynor continued to say he \u201cwas all over the news\u201d and asked, \u201cYou think my mama\u2019s seen that, though?\u201d He told the friend he expected to get $50,000 from a burglary there that night. Maynor then admitted after the failed robbery attempt, he hit a Hollywood Hills and attempted another one. But Maynor was captured by Los Angeles police in the backyard of the Hollywood home after shooting himself in the foot with an AR-15 rifle.<\/p>\n<p>Maynor was paroled from state prison three months before shooting Avant and two prior convictions for robbery and causing great bodily injury. In an attempt to obtain leniency, Maynor explained his time in the foster care system led to desperation. A probation report notes he was 21 and homeless at the time of his first robbery conviction, \u201cin which he shoved a woman to the ground and kicked her in the face in Hollywood.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Los Angeles police arrested Maynor for robbery a second time in 2018.
