\n It\u2019s a jungle out there.<\/p>\n

A slithering snake is the Big App<\/a>le\u2019s newest straphanger, according to a video posted to Twitter<\/a> on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The black several-foot-long reptile slowly slid along an unidentified New York City Transit platform in the footage, glancing around while the feet of one person stood in the background.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing a #TrainOperator for @NYCTSubway I thought I have seen it all but this can\u2019t be real,\u201d wrote the transit worker who posted the video, which he told The Post was sent to him.<\/p>\n

The snake appeared to possibly be a non-venomous black Eastern Rat Snake, which can grow to up to 7 feet in length, according to the National Wildlife Federation. Their natural habitat typically extends from Connecticut to South Carolina and as far west as Kansas and Oklahoma, the federation said.<\/p>\n

But don\u2019t worry: They\u2019re general<\/a>ly harmless to humans, preferring to feed on rodents, frogs, and eggs than Big Apple commuters.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear when the snake showed up, but the MTA told The Post on Sunday that it is investigating.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
