On Thursday, the film was halted indefinitely amid an investigation into the <em>Ghostbusters<\/em> star\u2019s on-set actions. Searchlight wrote in a letter issued to cast and crew:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAfter reviewing the circumstances, it has been decided that production cannot continue at this time. We are truly grateful to all of you for everything you\u2019ve put into this project.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The film \u2014 based on <strong>Atul Gawande<\/strong>\u2019s nonfiction book <i>Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End <\/i>\u2014 is being written and directed by <strong>Aziz Ansari<\/strong>, who is also co-starring alongside <strong>Seth Rogen<\/strong>. Neither Ansari nor Rogen are reportedly involved in the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s unclear what Murray\u2019s involvement in the project will be going forward as the investigation remains ongoing. The plan was to release the film in 2023, but we\u2019ll have to wait and see if the suspension affects that timeline.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: Drew Barrymore Tells Her Side Of The <i>Charlie\u2019s Angels<\/i> Fight Between Lucy Liu &amp; Bill!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While this <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> might come as a shock to some, the beloved actor has actually had a long history of disconcerting behavior both on and off set.<\/p>\n<p><em>Charlie\u2019s Angels<\/em> director <strong>McG<\/strong> claimed that Murray headbutted him on the set of the 2000 action flick, telling the <em>Guardian<\/em> in 2009:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cSquare in the head. An inch later and my nose would have been obliterated.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Murray vehemently denied the claim in an interview with the<em> Times of London<\/em> in October 2009, arguing:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThat\u2019s bulls**t! That\u2019s complete crap! I don\u2019t know why he made that story up. He has a very active imagination.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In June 2019, actor <strong>Richard Dreyfuss<\/strong> described Murray as a \u201cdrunken bully\u201d who allegedly threw an ashtray at his face when they worked together on the 1991 film <em>What About Bob?<\/em>, telling<em> Yahoo!<\/em>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cHe put his face next to me, nose-to-nose, and he screamed at the top of his lungs, \u2018Everyone hates you! You are tolerated!\u2019 \u2026 There was no time to react because he leaned back and he took a modern glass-blown ashtray. He threw it at my face from [only a couple feet away]. And it weighed about three-quarters of a pound. And he missed me. He tried to hit me. I got up and left.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Worse still, Murray was accused of <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thesmokinggun.com\/file\/bill-murray-accused-drug-spouse-abuse?page=0\">domestic abuse<\/a> by his ex-wife. When she filed for divorce from the actor in 2007, <strong>Jennifer Butler<\/strong> accused Bill of multiple counts of physical violence, as well as threats and intimidation.
