From \u201cGroundhog Day\u201d to \u201cH<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>y Death Day\u201d to \u201cPalm Springs,\u201d it\u2019s a common sci-fi concept. But what makes \u201cRussian Doll\u201d stand out in both seasons is its focus on heart over spectacle, and the characters\u2019 emotions and mental states. <\/p>\n<p>This show is only sci-fi insofar as it plays around with time <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a>; it\u2019s not remotely concerned with the mechanics of explaining how time travel works. Season 2 (which has Lyonne as its showrunner, in addition to starring, producing, writing, and directing) goes even further into the characters\u2019 psyches by sending Nadia on a deep-dive into her family\u2019s past. HADJ\u00da\/NETFLIX<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Nadia\u2019s family history is fraught, since her grandparents were Holocaust survivors and her mom was schizophrenic, resulting in her friend Ruth (Elizabeth Ashley) being Nadia\u2019s main parent figure.<\/p>\n<p>While she\u2019s in the 1980s, Nadia is delighted to meet a young version of Ruth (Annie Murphy, \u201cSchitt\u2019s Creek\u201d) and she attempts to get back her family\u2019s fortune, which her mother lost, in order to right the wrongs of the past. And\u00a0although it feels like a more scattered story, it\u2019s still pulsing with a manic kind of energy that draws you in and creates a show that\u2019s engrossing and unique, thanks in part to Lyonne\u2019s portrayal of Nadia as a woman who always rolls with the punches, no matter how weird they are.<\/p>\n<p>The show is a shining example of how the sci-fi genre doesn\u2019t have to consist of laundry lists of nonsense fake <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">science<\/a> terms and explosions; it can be used to tell thoughtful stories that speak to the roots of human nature.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
