It\u2019s an LCD that uses IPS (in-plane switching) <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a>, with the \u201cRetina\u201d moniker referring to the high pixel density which makes it virtually impossible to identify individual pixels at normal operating distances.<\/p>\n<p>What differs in newer XDR models is the method of lighting. The XDR display can also get brighter than the older models, which enables a more impressive HDR (high dynamic range) video presentation. These displays have improved contrast ratio and peak brightness compared to older backlit and edge-lit LCDs but they are built on the same fundamental technology.<\/p>\n<p>This is in stark contrast to OLED, which uses organic compounds to generate light with no backlighting required.
