I hear from too many people on my\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.komando.com\/station-finder\/\">national radio show<\/a>\u00a0who have lost everything.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Take these steps now to ensure your accounts are in the right hands after you pass away.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Your_Apple_account\"><\/span><strong>Your Apple account<\/strong>\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Apple\u2019s Legacy Contact finally debuted with iOS 15.2 as a safe and secure option to give someone access to data stored in your Apple account after you die. This includes photos, messages, notes, files, apps, and device backups.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Some information \u2014 such as <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">movies<\/a>, music, books, or subscriptions you purchased with your Apple ID and data stored in Keychain (payment information and passwords) \u2014 can\u2019t be accessed by a Legacy Contact.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>You can add more than one Legacy Contact, and all of them will be able to access the account to make decisions. You may have to use Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode to authenticate.<\/li>\n<li>If you\u2019re in a Family Sharing group, you can choose a group member. Or you can tap\u00a0<strong>Choose Someone Else<\/strong>\u00a0to add someone from your Contacts.<\/li>\n<li>Select the person from your Contacts. Tap\u00a0<strong>Continue<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>You\u2019ll be asked how you want to share your access key. Select\u00a0<strong>Print Access Key<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>Send Access Key<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If you choose to send the key digitally, Apple will create a message letting your contact know you\u2019ve added them as your legacy contact. Scroll down to\u00a0<strong>Settings &amp; Privacy<\/strong>. Tap to open that, then select\u00a0<strong>Settings<\/strong>. From the Account menu at the top of the next screen, select\u00a0<strong>Personal and Account Information<\/strong>\u00a0&gt;<strong>\u00a0Account Ownership and Control<\/strong>. You\u2019ll see Memorialization Settings. Click to select your legacy contact and notify your contact they\u2019re now in that role.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Once you have your legacy contact set, go to the Memorialization Settings. You can decide whether the person you chose can download a copy of what you\u2019ve shared on your feed, including posts, photos, videos, and profile information.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Once a year, you will receive a reminder of your chosen person as your legacy contact. If you\u2019re sure your person won\u2019t change or that you\u2019ll remember to change them if need be, you can click \u201cstop annual reminders\u201d in the Annual Reminder section.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019d rather have your account deleted after you pass away, get to the Memorialization Settings page, and scroll down. You probably have a few things in your search, watch, and location history that you\u2019d prefer to stay private. Anyone with access to your account will only see what you want them to see by setting up auto-delete.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Google auto-deletes account records after 18 months by default. If you want to shorten that window, you can in a few steps.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Go to your Google\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/myaccount.google.com\/activitycontrols\"><u>Activity controls<\/u><\/a>\u00a0and log in with your Google account.<\/li>\n<li>Under Web &amp; App Activity, you\u2019ll see\u00a0<strong>Auto-delete<\/strong>.
