The family walked out after 4 minutes without seeing an officer, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/myfox8.com\/news\/north-carolina\/piedmont-triad\/couple-came-to-sheriffs-office-2-hours-before-davie-county-murder-suicide-security-footage-reveals\/\">Fox 8<\/a> reported. Brown had told the officer she was calling for her boyfriend and handed the phone to Ewing-Meeks, according to the department\u2019s timeline.<\/p>\n<p>The officer called back three more times and spoke with Ewing-Meeks, who said \u201csomeone was following him,\u201d but he refused to drive back to the sheriff\u2019s office or tell the officer his exact location, Hartman said. Fifteen minutes later, firefighters were called to the house amid reports that it was on fire.<\/p>\n<p>After the fire was extinguished, they recovered the bodies inside the home.
