Ironically, the stock\u2019s recent decline in performance had been attributed to a lack of confidence in the Musk\/Twitter deal.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s over with now, and we can expect stocks to take at least a short-term hike in the wake of the massive deal.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Where_it_started\"><\/span>Where it started<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The whole kerfuffle began earlier this month when Musk purchased 9.2% of Twitter\u2019s\u00a0stock to become its largest shareholder.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, the company offered Musk a board position in what most experts saw as a transparent attempt to stop the world\u2019s richest man from purchasing more stock.<\/p>\n<p>At first, Musk signaled his willingness to accept the position.\u00a0 But he eventually declined before making a bid on the entire company. Why take a seat when you can grab the whole building?<\/p>\n<p>Twitter was <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2022\/04\/25\/tech\/elon-musk-twitter-sale-agreement\/index.html\">reportedly reticent to accept the deal<\/a>. Initial reports indicated the company\u2019s board had unanimously voted for and instituted <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/04\/15\/twitter-board-adopts-poison-pill-after-musks-43-billion-offer-to-buy-company.html\">a so-called \u201cpoison pill\u201d policy<\/a> to prevent a potential hostile takeover.<\/p>\n<p>In the interim, it <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>eared Twitter may avoid the buyout. There was even <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/04\/20\/technology\/elon-musk-twitter-potential.html\">some speculation<\/a> that a suitor who was more amenable to the status quo might come along.<\/p>\n<p>However, as CFRA senior equity analyst Angelo Zino <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2022\/04\/25\/tech\/elon-musk-twitter-sale-agreement\/index.html\">told CNN<\/a>, it became apparent that a \u201cwhite knight\u201d wasn\u2019t going to show up and top Musk\u2019s offer.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Where_its_going\"><\/span>Where it\u2019s going<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Now that Musk\u2019s in charge, denizens of the internet\u2019s most politically-divided social media network can expect some changes.<\/p>\n<p>In a now-public letter to the Twitter board, Musk stressed his impetus to elicit wholesale reform within the company as a means of achieving his personal goals for the app:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I invested in Twitter as I believe in its potential to be the platform for free speech around the globe, and I believe free speech is a societal imperative for a functioning democracy.
