The deal is valued at around $44 billion, and upon its completion, Twitter will exit the stock market and become a private company.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla CEO and meme enthusiast Elon Musk recently purchased a large share of Twitter, enough to join the board of directors. He quickly decided to take the whole company, citing his dis<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ointment in how Twitter handles \u201cfree speech\u201d and spam. He\u2019s also expressed interest in making Twitter open-source, which would spawn clones of the website and make third-party extensions easier to develop.<\/p>\n<p>Despite some clapback on social media and a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/04\/15\/twitter-board-adopts-poison-pill-after-musks-43-billion-offer-to-buy-company.html\">poison pill anti-buyout strategy<\/a> from Twitter\u2019s leadership, Elon Musk\u2019s plan worked. But the new CEO will likely focus on spam (his threads are full of replies from bot accounts) and whatever he perceives as free speech. We may also see a restructuring within the company; Musk is pretty hands-on with his businesses, and of course, he\u2019s\u00a0<em>constantly<\/em> using Twitter while\u00a0<em>constantly<\/em> criticizing the platform.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s worth mentioning that former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has a lot in common with Elon Musk. They\u2019re both flush with cash, they\u2019re both complete weirdos, and they both love cryptocurrency. Dorsey actually stepped down from Twitter last year <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/jack-dorsey-changes-his-official-title-from-ceo-to-block-head-11650663753\">to focus on cryptocurrency<\/a> at Square (now called Block), his banking and sales company.<\/p>\n<p>I guess we\u2019ll have to wait and see what the epic memelord does with his new toy. Personally, I hope he just shuts Twitter down for laughs.
