In 2017, a customer service employee temporarily deactivated then-President Donald Trump\u2019s Twitter account on <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TwitterGov\/status\/926267806261407744\">their last day working at the company<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Musk has a major supporter in former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, who endorsed him and said the company had taken \u201cthe right path\u201d by accepting his offer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn principle, I don\u2019t believe anyone should own or run Twitter,\u201d Dorsey tweeted. \u201cIt wants to be a public good at a protocol level, not a company. Solving for the problem of it being a company however, Elon is the singular solution I trust.
