For this reason, BPD patients tend to be more impulsive, reckless, insecure and thus have difficulty maintaining close relationships, according <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nimh.nih.gov\/health\/topics\/borderline-personality-disorder\">to National Institute of Mental Health<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>They\u2019re also both more likely to abuse drugs and alcohol, unleash angry outbursts, engage in self-harm and threaten suicide.
