And while the company is slowly inching toward a more reasonable production volume, its latest revelation may dis<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>oint some customers. Basically, complicated vehicle customizations take more time to manufacture, so they\u2019re getting delayed.<\/p>\n<p>In an email sent to Rivian R1T and R1S customers, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Rivian\/comments\/uc1p7f\/update_on_customer_deliveries\/\">Rivian announced<\/a> that vehicles with\u00a0Ocean Coast interiors won\u2019t start arriving until \u201clater this fall.\u201d The Ocean Coast interior uses fancy light wood paneling, which is more difficult (and perhaps more expensive) to produce than the\u00a0Black Mountain and Forest Edge interiors.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>For both R1T and R1S, we are prioritizing Black Mountain and Forest Edge interiors for the soonest deliveries, with Ocean Coast deliveries starting later this fall. The light wood in Ocean Coast is more challenging to produce, so in order to move faster, we are focusing initially on producing with Black Mountain and Forest Edge.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Additionally, Rivian says that it will focus on a \u201cbatched\u201d production schedule. It\u2019s just easier for the company to pump out a ton of trucks and SUVs that use the same paint and wheel colors. (So, vehicles with simple or default paint jobs may take priority\u2014Rivian hasn\u2019t really clarified this point.)<\/p>\n<p>Honing its production schedule should help Rivian deliver more cars in 2022. The company notes that\u00a0Adventure Package vehicles should roll out with Launch Edition orders over the coming months. Also, Rivian will reach out to customers in May about their vehicle\u2019s configuration; if you change certain options, you could receive your delivery early.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Sand mode \u2014 coming in a future OTA update <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/8Q5NwIgImE\">pic.twitter.com\/8Q5NwIgImE<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 RJ Scaringe (@RJScaringe) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RJScaringe\/status\/1518782385550241792?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 26, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Along with the new production tactic, Rivian has announced three new modes that should arrive over a software update. The first (and weirdest) is a new \u201csand mode.\u201d Based on a teaser video, we assume that this mode helps the R1T and R1S navigate through sandy plains and beaches. But Rivian hasn\u2019t really explained how sand mode works.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s also the new \u201cpet mode,\u201d which keeps your vehicle\u2019s interior at room temperature for your furry friends (don\u2019t leave children in your car, please). And a new feature called Dashcam, which sounds like Tesla\u2019s Sentry mode, will record your vehicle\u2019s surroundings while it\u2019s parked.<\/p>\n<p>I should note that\u00a0Ford kicked off F-150 Lightning production today. So, Rivian\u2019s decision to announce that some R1T pickups are delayed is interesting, to say the least.
