\n Apple has objected to a fledgling meal-prep company\u2019s new pear logo, arguing that the fruity design is too similar to the iPhone maker\u2019s famous mark.<\/p>\n

Apple filed a legal objection after a meal-planning startup called Super Healthy Kids attempted to register a trademark for a new app called Prepear, which is designed to let users store recipes and create meal plans.<\/p>\n

Prepear\u2019s logo, which features a pear with a leaf on top, \u201creadily calls to mind Apple\u2019s famous Apple Logo and creates a similar commercial impression,\u201d the tech giant said in a court filing, adding that the similarities will \u201ccause the ordinary consumer to believe\u201d that Prepear is \u201caffiliated with or endorsed by Apple.\u201d<\/p>\n

Super Healthy Kids, has accused Apple of \u201cabusing their position of power by going after small businesses like ours who are already struggling due to the effects of Covid-19.\u201d<\/p>\n

The startup started a Change.org campaign over the weekend with the hopes of getting Apple to back off, saying that it has had to lay off an employee due to the legal fees it has already incurred.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a very terrifying experience to be legally attacked by one of the largest companies in the world, even when we have clearly done nothing wrong,\u201d the campaign, which already has more than 25,000 signatures, reads.<\/p>\n

Super Healthy Kids said that it will fight Apple \u201cnot only to keep our logo, but to send a message to big tech companies that bullying small businesses has consequences.\u201d<\/p>\n

A representative for Apple did not immedia<\/a>tely respond to The Post\u2019s request for comment.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
