How do I determine what cellphone he is using \u2014 personal or department-issued? Should I observe what is on his cellphone screen at the time in order to make a judgment?<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, will the city back me up in doing what is requested of me? Please fill me and the public in as to our obligations in this sensitive matter.<\/p>\n<p><em>Andrew Watz<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Glendale<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Adams is no better than the prior mayor. With all the stuff law enforcement goes through day in and day out, he tells citizens to take pictures of cops on their cellphones.<\/p>\n<p>This is so wrong. There are people who hate cops who will go out to do this. It just gives them another way to attack the police.<\/p>\n<p>Please stop this nonsense and worry about cleaning up our city. The trains are a mess.<\/p>\n<p><em>Raymond Grosskopf<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Cornwall<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Our mayor criticized the transit police for not doing their job because they were on their cellphones, and asked the public to report officers using for them.<\/p>\n<p>Police officers are using cellphone <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> to perform their jobs. They are given phones by the city to report everyday activities.<\/p>\n<p>The police, as a whole, are having a hard enough time performing their duties; now the mayor decides he wants to attack the police.<\/p>\n<p><em>Joseph Comperchio<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Brooklyn<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Beseeching the public to photograph police officers using their cellphones is not only a poor management policy, but is also counterproductive to improving relations between police and civilians.<\/p>\n<p>Officers are issued department phones, which are used to communicate and record pertinent information throughout their tour. The public\u2019s assumption of in<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ropriate conduct on officers\u2019 part when they observe them using the phones needs to be corrected.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps educating the public, instead of threatening officers who are already demoralized, would be a better management strategy. <\/p>\n<p><em>Thomas Urban<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Wantagh<\/em><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Issue_Andrea_Peysers_column_on_complaints_against_Bill_Murray_for_%E2%80%9Cinappropriate_behavior%E2%80%9D\"><\/span><strong>The Issue: Andrea Peyser\u2019s column on complaints against Bill Murray for \u201cinappropriate behavior.\u201d<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>I would suggest that the #MeToo movement died (or at least lost its initial power) when Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand made a mockery of it by using it in a shamelessly cynical, political way to oust Al Franken from the Senate (\u201cMurray KO\u2019d by #MeToo overdo,\u201d Andrea Peyser, April 27).<\/p>\n<p>And judging by the backlash (despite being reelected, she lost millions of voters), the public did not appreciate this.<\/p>\n<p>My mother was a feminist when Gloria Steinem and Betty Friedan were in strollers. And while she agreed with its basic premise, she distrusted the #MeToo movement for its hopelessly inflexible view of interpersonal relationships.<\/p>\n<p><em>Ian Alterman<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Manhattan<\/em><\/p>\n<p>While I usually agree with Peyser, she is wrong.<\/p>\n<p>Pulling a ponytail or putting an arm around someone is a violation of personal space.<\/p>\n<p>It is offensive to any woman who has been poked, prodded and\/or \u201cflirted with\u201d that Peyser assumes Bill Murray is being wrongly accused simply because he is one of the \u201cgood guys.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Patricia Keane<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Westhampton Beach<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Want to weigh in on today\u2019s stories?
