Yet the two have \u201conly sat down to lunch twice this year, a significant drop\u201d from the 12 lunches they had by this time in 2021. And this \u201camid whispers of a rocky start to their working relationship.\u201d The pair\u2019s busy schedules, Harris\u2019 positive COVID test and that of others around them may partly explain the paucity of shared lunches. Meanwhile, though, their meals have reportedly \u201clacked a real depth of personal and political intimacy\u201d; Biden has been unable to recreate the \u201csense of camaraderie\u201d he enjoyed with Obama.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From the left: A \u2018Body Blow\u2019 to Dems\u2019 Hopes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> that the US economy unexpectedly shrank over the first quarter of the year is an absolute body blow to Democrats already reeling amid growing economic concerns ahead of the 2022 midterm election,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/04\/28\/politics\/us-economy-shrank-democrats-2022-midterm\/index.html\">frets CNN\u2019s Chris Cillizza<\/a>. The 1.4% shrinkage in the GDP marked \u201cthe worst performance of the measure since the economy went into recession\u201d as the country shut down during the pandemic in 2020. Meanwhile, new polls show public confidence in the economy, a \u201ctop-of-mind\u201d issue, is \u201cextremely low.\u201d One Biden pollster calls this \u201cthe worst political environment\u201d he\u2019s seen in 30 years as a consultant. If things stay roughly as they are, the only question will be \u201chow big\u201d of an \u201celectoral hole\u201d will Dems need to dig themselves out of.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conservative: Canceling Debt Will Fuel Tuitions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s student-debt plan \u201cmakes suckers out of the millions who have felt honor-bound\u201d to pay,<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/canceling-student-loan-debt-would-make-college-more-expensive\"> thunders Stephen Moore at the Washington Examiner<\/a>: Who would \u201cpay off a student loan ever again after this blanket forgiveness program?\u201d Worse, \u201conce student loans move to \u2018free college\u2019 for everyone, university tuitions\u201d will \u201crace further ahead of all other consumer prices.\u201d Besides, if student-loan debt has to be retired, \u201cwhy not force universities with massive endowments, in many cases in the tens of billions of dollars,\u201d to foot the bill? \u201cDemocrats think that buying votes this November by making college essentially free will win them elections,\u201d but \u201cit\u2019s just a question of who pays the piper. And it shouldn\u2019t be YOU.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Libertarian: Musk Didn\u2019t \u2018Target\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> Exec<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Although The Washington Post \u201caccused billionaire Elon Musk of \u2018targeting\u2019\u2009\u201d Twitter employees, all he really did \u201cwas offer some entirely valid criticisms\u201d related to its decision to suppress the New York Post\u2019s reporting on Hunter Biden, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/reason.com\/2022\/04\/27\/elon-musk-washington-post-harassment-twitter-tiktok-media\/\">contends Reason\u2019s Robby Soave<\/a>. \u201cHas The Washington Post not committed the exact same crime\u201d it accuses Musk of, both by attacking him and with its recent \u201cLibs of TikTok\u201d expos\u00e9 (which \u201cundoubtedly subjected [its subject] to considerable opprobrium\u201d)? The WaPo seems to be saying that \u201cwhen the media industry holds people to account, it\u2019s noble and justified; but when people outside media hold people to account, it\u2019s an act of targeted harassment.\u201d The paper needs to \u201cwean itself from that idea\u201d or \u201cmake peace with the criticism of its self-dealing double standard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eye on the economy: Inflation\u2019s Worse for Most<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The headlines peg inflation at 8.5%, but \u201cmost Americans know the inflation they encounter at the grocery store checkout, the gas pump, the car lot and the leasing office is far higher,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/04\/27\/the-inflation-draining-your-wallet-grocery-cart-and-gas-tank-is-far-steeper-than-8-percent\/\">argues The Federalist\u2019s Elle Reynolds<\/a>. \u201cIn the average U.S. city, ground beef is up 14.9 percent since last March, boneless stew beef is up 24.3 percent\u201d and \u201cfuel oil has jumped a whopping 71.5 percent.\u201d And it\u2019s likely to get worse: \u201cInvestment firm Evercore ISI projected the price of chicken breasts to jump at a year-over-year rate of up to 70 percent in the first half of 2022.\u201d Rents and used cars are soaring, too. \u201cThese are unsustainable numbers for most Americans.\u201d <\/p>\n<p><em>\u2014 Compiled by The Post Editorial Board<\/em>\n                        <\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
