Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>oint a special counsel,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/opinion\/white-house\/3468089-garland-does-the-bidens-no-favor-by-dodging-a-special-counsel-appointment\/\">former federal prosecutor Andrew C. McCarthy explains at The Hill<\/a>, \u201cthere is a bulletproof case for the appointment of a special counsel under regulations that are supposed to bind the Justice Department.\u201d \u201cMillions of dollars allegedly poured into the Biden family . . . from foreign sources tied to\u201d corrupt and authoritarian governments,\u201d and Joe Biden \u201chad to know his son was trading on his political influence.\u201d Since \u201cthe controlling federal regulations dictate that a special counsel must be appointed,\u201d the longer Garland fights it, \u201cthe more it increases suspicion that the president\u2019s hands may not be clean.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Ex-Marine_Send_Ukraine_More_Aid\"><\/span><strong>Ex-Marine: Send Ukraine More Aid<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>\u201cU.S. and North Atlantic Treaty Organization aid to Ukraine has been too little, too late,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/ukraine-needs-far-more-firepower-nato-munitions-artillery-migs-shells-tanks-antiaircraft-bombing-eastern-russia-putin-11651002487\">laments Bing West in The Wall Street Journal. <\/a>\u201cThe air war was conceded to Russia a month ago when President Biden, unnerved by Vladimir Putin\u2019s threats, vetoed the transfer of Polish MiGs to Ukraine. With Russia bombing civilians daily, that timorous decision must be reversed.\u201d And having \u201cconceded control of the air, the odds of Ukraine taking back the cities held by the Russians are low, and approach zero without massive artillery.\u201d And keep in mind: \u201cNATO military aid is one-tenth of what Europe is paying Russia for energy.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Libertarian_Bidens_Not-Bad_Zoning_Plan\"><\/span><strong>Libertarian: Biden\u2019s Not-Bad Zoning Plan<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>President Biden is taking \u201canother stab at zoning reform,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/reason.com\/2022\/04\/28\/joe-biden-takes-another-stab-at-zoning-reform\/\">reports Reason\u2019s Christian Britschgi.<\/a> He\u2019s \u201cproposing to spend $10 billion over ten years incentivizing local and state governments to remove regulatory barriers to new housing construction.\u201d His administration argues \u201cAmerica is short some 3.8 million homes\u201d and puts \u201csome of the blame\u201d on local regulations. \u201cFederal money can incentivize cities\u201d to \u201cundertake a wholesale rewrite\u201d of their \u201cdecades-old zoning codes,\u201d Britschgi notes. The \u201cproposal is not perfectly, or even particularly, libertarian. It still involves new federal spending.\u201d But \u201cthis is one area where the federal government could potentially play a constructive, deregulatory role.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Media_watch_Musks_Concerned_Competition\"><\/span><strong>Media watch: Musk\u2019s Concerned Competition<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Washington Post is \u201cvery concerned\u201d Elon Musk will soon \u201cown a major <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a> platform,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/the-washington-post-doth-protest-too-much\">snarks Becket Adams at the Washington Examiner<\/a> \u2014 much like its \u201coverlord\u201d Jeff Bezos. WaPo warns Twitter\u2019s new owner is a \u201cright-wing gadfly,\u201d which is funny considering: He\u2019s a \u201cleader in green <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a>, building his automotive empire largely on the back of taxpayers. He\u2019s a climate change alarmist. He\u2019s a crony capitalist. He\u2019s liberal on nearly every social policy.\u201d The <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a>paper worries about not just Twitter execs losing their jobs but the social-media giant\u2019s anonymous users. It\u2019s hilarious because the paper \u201cjust a few weeks ago revealed the identity of the anonymous Twitter user behind the \u2018Libs of TikTok\u2019 account.\u201d The paper\u2019s \u201ccriticisms and concerns\u201d don\u2019t seem \u201cgenuine\u201d but rather a reflection of Bezos, the paper\u2019s owner, who \u201calmost certainly views Musk as a direct competitor.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Culture_critic_Educating_for_Morals\"><\/span><strong>Culture critic: Educating for Morals<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>\u201cClassical education is a holistic approach that is geared toward the cultivation of students\u2019 minds, imagination, perception, and emotions so that they can be equipped with character traits that will help them to flourish,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/fordhaminstitute.org\/national\/commentary\/literature-and-virtue\">notes Jennifer Frey at Thomas B. Fordham Institute<\/a>. But \u201cvirtue education can be incorporated into a more mainstream educational setting,\u201d too.
