But let me be clear, this is nothing to do with Kim Kardashian,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe [Met Gala] moment has raised a level of awareness about Marilyn for a new generation,\u201d Fortner stated. \u201cThe dress has its own importance. We take great pride in owning the \u2018Happy Birthday\u2019 dress and consulted with multiple textile experts and conservators on this endeavor,\u201d Ripley\u2019s added. \u201cWhile none were adamantly for or against Kim wearing the gown, their input helped us craft a set of precautions and procedures for the Met Gala. This caution proved to be sound, as no damage occurred at last night\u2019s event.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The spokesperson noted that the dress will be returned on Wednesday, May 4, to \u201cthe Ripley\u2019s Vault,\u00a0a dark, temperature (68 degrees) and humidity (40 \u2013 50%) controlled room, where it remains in its case, mounted\u00a0on a form covered in acid free cotton muslin.
