XCM channels are said to be secured at the same level as Polkadot\u2019s central hub, dubbed Relay Chain, and are also available for use by parachains. In other words, XCM will enable communication between parachains themselves as well as smart contracts.<\/p>\n<p>Future iterations of XCM will allow messages to be sent between parachains without having to be stored on the Relay Chain, thereby improving scalability and eliminating governance processes for individual chains.<\/p>\n<p>Bridge hacks have cost the cryptocurrency industry more than $1 billion over the past year, underscoring major security vulnerabilities of the new <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a>, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bnnbloomberg.ca\/crypto-bridge-hacks-reach-over-1-billion-in-little-over-a-year-1.1745479\">according<\/a> to data compiled by Chainalysis and reported by Bloomberg. Axie Infinity\u2019s Ronin bridge exploit was perhaps the most infamous attack, with the perpetrators draining more than $600 million worth of digital assets in just two transactions. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">There has been a security breach on the Ronin Network.<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ktAp9w5qpP\">https:\/\/t.co\/ktAp9w5qpP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ronin (@Ronin_Network) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Ronin_Network\/status\/1508828719711879168?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 29, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\nCiting data from Dune Analytics, Bloomberg also reported that more than $21 billion is locked on Ethereum bridges as of March 30.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about the biggest security flaws of bridges, Peter Mauric, public affairs head at Polkadot developer Parity Technologies, told Cointelegraph:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cMost bridges today rely on a few weak foundations, primarily over-reliance on centralized multisignature schemes, meaning they aren\u2019t trustless or spaghetti smart contract code that opens users up to attack.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He added that \u201ccommunication between parachains on Polkadot avoid these pitfalls.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Could the right bridge be the key to exponential growth for crypto?
