But critics have raised concerns about the data being less anonymous than data brokers claim.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In one example, a top Catholic priest from Wisconsin was forced to resign last year after a Catholic <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> site was able to de-anonymize data linked to his cellphone to reveal that he had allegedly used Grindr and visited gay bars. It was not clear whether that data had been obtained from SafeGraph or another data broker.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/cdc-60.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Centers for Disease Control and Prevention\" class=\"wp-image-22134198\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/cdc-60.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/cdc-60.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/cdc-60.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>The CDC monitored Americans\u2019 visits to churches and schools, as well as \u201cdetailed counts of visits to participating pharmacies for vaccine monitoring,\u201d the documents show. <\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Pro-choice activists have also raised concerns that cellphone data from firms like SafeGraph can be used to track women who visit abortion clinics.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>Google banned all <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a> developers on its app store from working with SafeGraph last year after critics raised privacy concerns.<\/p>\n<p>In the internal CDC documents, the agency said it was able to glean \u201cextremely accurate insights related to age, gender, race, citizenship status, income, and more\u201d based on the cellphone data.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The documents also show that the CDC wants to use the data for more than monitoring coronavirus efforts.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The CDC wrote that one potential use of cellphone data would be \u201cResearch points of interest for physical activity and chronic disease prevention such as visits to parks, gyms, or weight management businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another would be tracking \u201cpopulation migration before, during, and after natural disasters.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe mobility data obtained under this contract will be available for CDC agency-wide use and will support numerous CDC priorities,\u201d the agency wrote.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
