The registration was a step toward allowing the crypto exchange to provide crypto-related services in France including custodying assets, exchanging digital assets for other tokens or legal tender, and operating a digital asset platform.<\/p>\n<p>According to the AMF, registration requires checks to ensure \u201cgood repute and competence of the managers and beneficial owners\u201d as well as compliance with regulations on anti-money laundering and combatting the financing of terrorism. Binance <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.binance.com\/en\/blog\/markets\/binance-is-now-a-fully-regulated-digital-asset-service-provider-in-france-421499824684903809\">said<\/a> in a Wednesday blog post it would \u201csignificantly scale\u201d its operations in France following the registration <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roval, and planned to expand its team \u201cto pursue further infrastructure development.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe French DASP and AML\/CFT regulations put in place stringent anti-money laundering and fit and proper requirements to meet the high standards necessary to be regulated in France,\u201d said Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, or CZ.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">.<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/binance?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Binance<\/a> just got approved for the France  VASP (Virtual Assets Service Provider) registration.<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/DwqZrxq3bS\">https:\/\/t.co\/DwqZrxq3bS<\/a> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Eebkc7OhRV\">pic.twitter.com\/Eebkc7OhRV<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 CZ  Binance (@cz_binance) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cz_binance\/status\/1521883265438736386?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 4, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\nThe move into France signaled Binance\u2019s latest expansion of its global operations, having obtained in-principle approval to operate in Abu Dhabi in April. In March, regulators in the Middle East also gave the green light for the exchange to provide services in Bahrain and Dubai. The major crypto exchange has no formal headquarters at the time of publication, but was reportedly going to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2022\/04\/01\/crypto-exchange-binance-picking-headquarters-location-regulators\/\" data-amp=\"https:\/\/fortune-com.cdn.ampproject.org\/c\/s\/fortune.com\/2022\/04\/01\/crypto-exchange-binance-picking-headquarters-location-regulators\/amp\/\">choose<\/a> a location \u201cvery soon,\u201d seemingly in an effort to appease regulators \u2014 many countries\u2019 authorities have previously issued warnings saying Binance was not authorized to provide its services to residents.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related: <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Globe-trotting Binance looks to Ireland for \u2018centralized\u2019 headquarters<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In November, CZ announced the launch of a 100-million euro \u2014 $115 million at the time \u2014 initiative called \u201cObjective Moon\u201d to develop the blockchain and crypto ecosystem in France and Europe.
