class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>JPMorgan chief Jamie Dimon gave another dire warning about the Ukraine war\u2019s potential long-term impact on the global economy on Wednesday \u2013 cautioning that an escalation in the brutal Russian invasion is a potential \u201cdisaster\u201d that could cause an economic slowdown.<\/p>\n<p>Dimon indicated that he is more concerned about possible escalation in the Ukraine war than he has about the mounting fears of a recession as the Federal Reserve moves to hike interest rates to curb inflation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBasically, the Cold War is back,\u201d Dimon said during an interview with Bloomberg. \u201cI think the whole world learned something that we always knew \u2013 that national security is always the most important thing, but it kind of recedes in the background when we\u2019re all doing well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dimon asserted there was a \u201cchance\u201d that the Russia-Ukraine war could last for \u201cyears\u201d \u2013 an outcome that he warned would \u201ccompletely rattle global energy markets, wheat markets, commodity markets.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The bank boss called on the Biden administration and Western allies to take im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>te steps to boost a \u201cprecarious\u201d global energy market \u2013 with a focus on ensuring that European nations that have long relied on Russian energy have viable alternatives available.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" Cold War is back,\u201d Dimon repeated. \u201cThe allies have to coalesce and not just for military purposes but for global, economic, strategic investment purposes so that we\u2019ve got a safe world. If we don\u2019t do that, Ukraine, you could see that all around the world. You could see forms of chaos.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dimon\u2019s interview with the outlet surfaced hours before the Fed was set to announce the next phase in its an effort to fight inflation. So I think people should take a deep breath, give them a chance and I think the sooner they move, the better,\u201d Dimon said.<\/p>\n<p>But even as Dimon outlined his view of the odds of a recession \u2014 there\u2019s a 33% chance America has a \u201csoft landing,\u201d a 33% chance of a mild recession and 33% chance of a severe recession \u2014 he moderated his tone and added the economy is currently \u201cvery strong\u201d and that consumers are in \u201cgreat shape.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dimon\u2019s comments come less than a month after JPMorgan, America\u2019s largest bank, reported dis<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ointing earnings that were 42% lower than the same period in 2021. At the time Dimon warned <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jpmorganchase.com\/content\/dam\/jpmc\/jpmorgan-chase-and-co\/investor-relations\/documents\/quarterly-earnings\/2022\/1st-quarter\/c1afebcf-9ba1-44de-97fc-a446d7baf619.pdf\">in a statement\u00a0<\/a>there would be \u201csignificant geopolitical and economic challenges ahead due to high inflation, supply chain issues and the war in Ukraine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>US inflation is running at 8.5%, according to the most recent read from the feds, its highest level since 1981 and a threat to everyday Americans when it comes to rising prices at the cash register \u2014 and to corporations, which are seeing their profit margins threatened.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
