Rowling once stated to fans on social media that she actually regretted killing off the heroic character. \u201cI apologize for killing someone who didn\u2019t die during the #BattleofHogwarts, but who laid down his life to save the people who\u2019d win it. I refer, of course, to Dobby the house elf,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n<p>One reader responded that she \u201cwish[ed]\u201d to be more like the sweet and selfless Dobby.
