Recalling the end of their 1-year romance, after Matt <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>eared on<em> The <strong>Oprah<\/strong> <strong>Winfrey<\/strong> Show<\/em> and declared he was single, Minnie shared on Wednesday:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThat was just a sweet romance that was just a sweet love affair in the center of all of that stuff, but had a combustible ending, which then became the focus.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Yeesh! Combustible does not sound like the way you want things to go down!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: Matt Damon Finally Reveals HIS Side Of The \u2018Feud\u2019 With Jimmy Kimmel<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, it sounds like Matt has Minnie\u2019s parents to thank for the fact that she hasn\u2019t held a grudge about the heartbreaking split, she added:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAnother thing that my parents taught me, was there just isn\u2019t any time to sit around feeling resentful or angry, just have to get on and everybody had a beautiful life.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The <em>Cinderella<\/em> star\u2019s family \u201cloved Matt\u201d but they \u201ccould see that this young man was rocketing really fast,\u201d just as she was, she explained:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThey were like, \u2018This may well end badly for reasons that are to do with all these things coming together in a perfect storm.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>And it did result in a storm of tabloid attention, especially after the <em>Jason Bourne<\/em> lead went on Oprah\u2019s talk show in 1998 and declared:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI was with Minnie for awhile, but we\u2019re not really romantically involved anymore, we\u2019re just really good friends. I love her dearly. I care about her a lot. We care about each other a lot. It wasn\u2019t meant to be and if it wasn\u2019t meant to be then it\u2019s not meant to be.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>But just months later, the Brit slammed him for not giving her a heads up about his feelings, telling the<em> Los Angeles Times<\/em>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt\u2019s unfortunate that Matt went on <em>Oprah<\/em>; it seemed like a good forum for him to announce to the world that we were no longer together, which I found fantastically inappropriate.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>She also added another dig, suggesting he was using their relationship as a PR move for more attention:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cOf course, he was busy declaring his love for me on <strong>David Letterman<\/strong> a month previously.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Yikes. The drama continued a year later, in November 1999, when Matt went back on Oprah\u2019s show and denied not breaking up with his former co-star in person before making the announcement. He learned his lesson, though, because when asked if he was seeing anyone new, he quipped:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI\u2019ve pretty much learned that there can be no advantage gained by putting that in the public consciousness.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>That time remains but a \u201csurreal dream\u201d to her now. Remarkably, she sounds somewhat understanding of it all, too, realizing that the screenwriter \u201ccouldn\u2019t have helped how famous he became and how his life was being picked over.\u201d If that wasn\u2019t all intense enough for you, it turns out the exes didn\u2019t see each other again until LAST YEAR!! While appearing on the <em>Keep It!<\/em> podcast in September, she revealed that their families bumped into each other during a beach day, she reflected:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI did see Matt Damon on the beach and I had not had a conversation with him, seriously, since we made the film.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Somehow it wasn\u2019t the most awkward thing in the world either, she continued:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThat was last summer and it was actually very nice to see him, and his kids, and his wife and it all felt quite middle-aged actually, which was reassuring.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Despite the drama of their past, they were able to just exchange a quick hello without any explosions, she noted:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI feel like so much of the \u2018folly of youth\u2019 went on with our initial relationship, like it was amazing and tabloidy. So that was nice to just have sort of a middle-aged conversation about the weather and stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Matt has since moved on with his wife <strong>Luciana Barroso<\/strong>. They tied the know in 2005 and have three daughters: <strong>Isabella<\/strong>, 16, <strong>Gia<\/strong>, 13, and <strong>Stella<\/strong>, 11. Luciana is also mom to <strong>Alexia<\/strong>, 23, whom she shares with her ex-husband. Minnie has been dating filmmaker <strong>Addison O\u2019Dea<\/strong> since 2019. She also shared son <strong>Henry<\/strong>, 13, with ex <strong>Timothy J. Lea<\/strong>.
