And much of his audience never saw him play when you think about it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClyde is so personable with fans. It\u2019s the same way he was \u2013 those personality traits \u2013 as a player, always with a big smile and talking with fans.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/albert2.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Marv Albert (left) and Walt Frazier in 1999.\" class=\"wp-image-22165981\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/albert2.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1536 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/albert2.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/albert2.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Marv Albert (left) and Walt Frazier in 1999.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ironically, Albert said he believes Frazier\u2019s improvement as a broadcaster came because he voiced his opinions. \u201cThe Marvelous One\u2019\u2019 got in hot water with Knicks eccentric owner James Dolan for doing the same, which led to his premature departure in 2004.<\/p>\n<p>In retirement, Albert has a chance to listen to Frazier more than ever as he\u2019s watched a majority of Knicks <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>s.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s become more opinionated in recent years, which demonstrates his knowledge,\u2019\u2019 Albert, who is on the advisory board for the new Earl Monroe Renaissance School, said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWalt took to it well. He\u2019s not what he is now. He\u2019s really come a long way. Again, he\u2019s not afraid to give his opinion. Not that he\u2019s taking shots but if he thinks a player erred defensively, he points it out because he was such a good defender.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cl think the network guys do that but the whole philosophy has changed for local (TV). They want positive \u2013 which I never believed in.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The Albert-Dolan feud hasn\u2019t faded. Dolan didn\u2019t give Albert a tribute last June when he broadcast his final game at the Garden in Game 5 of the first-round <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> against the Hawks. Albert\u2019s last-ever game in the booth \u2013 for TNT\u00a0\u2013 was just weeks later in Atlanta in the Eastern Conference Finals <\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s say it was a disagreement in broadcast philosophy,\u2019\u2019 Albert said of his Knicks split. \u201cI always felt you had to be objective.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Albert made one trek to the Garden \u2014 for the Stephen Curry game in December when the Warriors guard set the all-time record for 3-pointers made. The tickets were courtesy of his former broadcast partner and close friend, Warriors coach Steve Kerr.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was tremendous the way the crowd was rooting for him,\u2019\u2019 Albert said. \u201cIt would not h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>en to too many visiting players. He comes across so well and people love him. They had phones out taking photos. I got a kick out of it. In the 1970\u2019s (at the Garden) that wouldn\u2019t happen. The stars were not welcomed that way. It was all about those Knicks teams.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Albert was the broadcaster for the 1970 and 1973 Knicks championship teams before he became the national voice of the NBA. It\u2019s one of the better groups of teams the East has seen in years.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p>With his new leisure time, Albert has started working out with a trainer, viewed a ton of Yankees and Mets games and says \u201cI\u2019ve become \u2018Mr. Binge TV.\u2019\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Since 1968, Albert has called NBA playoff games annually and now the playoffs miss Albert. However, he has kept his hand in it, working on a few TNT projects that will air later in the playoffs and during next year\u2019s All-Star Weekend.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou miss it, especially in the playoffs where there\u2019s been so many real good games,\u2019\u2019 Albert said. \u201cI miss the people I worked with, the preparation.\u00a0After a\u00a0broadcast it\u2019s a great feeling when it all comes together. Or it\u2019s an annoying feeling if you feel if it\u2019s so-so.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d go back to the hotel and replay it and spot check on League Pass. The little things I\u2019d say, I\u2019d be like \u201cwhat the heck.\u2019\u2019 But it\u2019s a great feeling when you know everybody did a real nice job.\u2019\u2019\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
