I was going through TSA. The gate person said, \u2018Where you headed?\u2019 I said, \u2018I\u2019m going to Florida.\u2019 He said, \u2018Are you sure about that? You seem kinda nervous.\u2019 I said, \u2018No, I just stutter sometimes,\u2019\u201d Winski says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe said, \u2018I need to take you this way for an extra pat-down.\u2019 Is that discrimination? I\u2019m not sure but it didn\u2019t make my day. Just another day in the life,\u201d the smiling man adds.<\/p>\n<p>Winski told The Post in an email Friday: \u201cThere are still so many misconceptions about stuttering and I would like more education, awareness, and representation about this topic. It\u2019s OK to stutter and every voice matters.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-tiktok wp-block-embed-tiktok\"\/>\n<p>Many users expressed support for Winski and described the incident as discriminatory.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDefinitely discrimination. I have faced prejudice all my life and I let it run my life because of my speech. Keep spreading awareness,\u201d one wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes it is! That agent now knows after I talked to them!\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>TSA press secretary R. Carter Langston told The Post that the agency has seen the video and has requested additional information about the incident.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere have been no complaints filed with TSA regarding this incident, and we do not know what airport or when this was alleged to have occurred,\u201d Langston wrote in an email.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen more information is available or a complaint is filed, TSA headquarters will launch a review of the incident in question and will not comment on this specific event until the review is completed,\u201d the rep wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDepending on the situation, the internal review may lead to additional training or changes to screening processes,\u201d Langston continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe take all <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a>er allegations about our security checkpoint screening processes seriously and are committed to ensuring every traveler is treated respectfully and courteously,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Langston also noted that travelers who are identified for an additional search may request a private screening and that those who anticipate needing additional screening may call TSA to receive assistance going through the security checkpoint.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile at the checkpoint, those travelers who need assistance or have concerns or questions, may request to speak with a supervisor or ask for a passenger support specialist,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>About 3 million people in the US stutter, according to the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders.<\/p>\n<p>Winski\u2019s acting credits include national performances in \u201cGrease,\u201d \u201cWest Side Story\u201d and \u201cHairspray.\u201d <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
