\n Evan Engram is healthy and relieved after what he calls \u201ca very blessed offseason.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

Engram, the Giants\u2019 dynamic yet injury-prone tight end, underwent Dec. 20 foot surgery to repair a partial Lisfranc tear. He started out his rehab work at the team facility but was forced out of that familiar environment when COVID-19 restrictions kicked in. He went home to Atlanta to continue to heal until last week, when he returned for training camp at MetLife Stadium.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was an adjustment,\u2019\u2019 Engram said Monday. \u201cJust being comfortable up here with our facilities and our trainers and then everything going south and shutting down. Our training staff did a good job of making connections where I was at. I got set up with a rehab facility not too far from my house, so I was able to kind of pick back up. They were able to pick up all the details that I needed, things that I needed, and we were able to keep things in motion. We definitely had to make some adjustments, but our training staff here did a great job helping me stay on track.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

The Giants did not put Engram on the physically unable to perform list, a good sign he is fully or nearly fully recovered. He is taking part in the limited work allowed on the field and on Wednesday is expected to join his teammates for Phase 2 activities, which allow players to wear helmets and \u201capp<\/a>roved protective shirts\u2019\u2019 for practice.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel great,\u2019\u2019 Engram said, but he would not elaborate on what exactly he is cleared to do.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not allowed to get into the details,\u2019\u2019 Engram said. \u201cThat\u2019s a coach [Joe] Judge rule. I\u2019m out here with my teammates, I\u2019m running around doing good, trying to get better each and every day.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

The Giants picked up the fifth-year option on Engram, which will pay him around $6 million for the 2021 season. The key with Engram \u2014 who turns 26 on Sept. 2 \u2014 is availability. He played in a career-low eight game<\/a>s last season and has missed 29 percent of the games (14 of 48) in his three-years with the Giants.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not really worried about what all the other people are saying,\u2019\u2019 Engram said. \u201cI can only control what\u2019s in front of me each and every day. That\u2019s coming in, working hard during training camp and learning this offense and being a good teammate and a good leader.\u2019\u2019\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
