Wade As Benedict Cumberbatch Returns To Host \u2013 Highlights HERE!<br \/>\n&#8220;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h1>\n<div itemprop=\"articleBody\" class=\"text\">\n<strong>Benedict Cumberbatch<\/strong> is back!<\/p>\n<p>The 45-year-old actor returned to host <em>Saturday Night Live<\/em> for the second time over the weekend. While Benedict is known for his more dramatic work, he sure proved once again just how incredibly hilarious he can be!<\/p>\n<p>Unsurprisingly, the sketch comedy show kicked off the episode by tackling one of the biggest bombshells that dropped this year: the leaked <strong>Supreme Court<\/strong> draft opinion, which threatens to overturn <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> and thus puts abortion and reproductive rights in danger. The cold open begins with a voiceover mocking Supreme Court Justice <strong>Samuel Alito<\/strong> for citing a 13th-century English law as part of their reasoning. Then, Benedict pops up in a full medieval ensemble and bowl haircut speaking with two other mean about abortion, as well as bringing up some of the other wild things people actually believe:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWhile I was cleaning the side of the castle while we poop\u2026I started to think about abortion. We should make a law that will stand the test of time, so hundreds and hundreds of years from now, they will go back and say, \u2018no need to update this one, they nailed it in 1235.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Related: Watch Lizzo Pull Double Duty On<em> Saturday Night Live<\/em>!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cecily Strong<\/strong> as a 12-year-old and <strong>Kate McKinnon<\/strong> as an \u201cold crone\u201d in her 30s joined in on the sketch. Kate\u2019s Barrett states at one point:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI just don\u2019t understand why you need an abortion. You can leave a baby anywhere in the United States. Just plop it! On a sidewalk? Plop it. Like Moses in a basket? Plop it. Like an infant in Jungle Book? \u2018Do your nine,\u2019 and then plop that baby and give it to a panther. You are a murderer if you have an abortion, but you are not a murderer if you put a baby in a bag in a mailbox. That tracks and is good to me\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Weekend Update: Justice Amy Coney Barrett on Overturning Roe v. The infamous <strong>Oscars<\/strong> slap from <strong>Will Smith<\/strong>, of course. In his opening monologue, Benedict im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely started off with a quip about the controversy by talking about his Oscar nomination for his role in <em>The Power of the Dog<\/em>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI really am thrilled to be back hosting Saturday Night Live. It\u2019s been a really fun, great week. I have to be honest though, because most of the sketch writers pitched me sketches every day, and most were about Doctor Strange. Which is great, I love the guy, I love playing the character\u2026 but I have been in other films.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The <strong>Marvel<\/strong> star then joked that executive producer <strong>Lorne Michaels<\/strong> asked him:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201c\u2018Like what?\u2019 And I said, \u2018Well, like The Power of the Dog.\u2019 And he said, \u2018Nobody saw it,&#8217;\u201d Cumberbatch recalled. \u201cI said, \u2018Come on, man, I was nominated for an Oscar for that.\u2019 I mean, I didn\u2019t win. I was beat by Will Smith.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Damn! He quickly added:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cNo, not physically! Not physically.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Couldn\u2019t resist another jab, huh, SNL? LOLz! Changing the subject, Benedict then shared some sweet and hilarious messages for his mom and his wife, <strong>Sophie Hunter<\/strong>. The rockers first delivered a stellar performance of <em>The Lightning I, II<\/em>. At the end, lead singer <strong>Will Butler<\/strong> grabbed the mic to express his opinion on<em> Roe v. Wade<\/em> potentially being overturned, saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cA woman\u2019s right to choose forever and ever and ever.
