The plastic will trap heat while making sure the soil stays moist.<\/p>\n<p>Another simple and low-cost\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/lifestyle\/5188202\/gardening-expert-29-cents-stop-plants-drying-out\/\">hack for your garden<\/a>\u00a0involves diapers.<\/p>\n<p>Disposable diapers have hydrogel in them to make sure they absorb and retain liquids.<\/p>\n<p>This is the same stuff that\u2019s sold in garden stores but usually advertised as water retention crystals, reports\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gardeningknowhow.com\/special\/containers\/using-diapers-in-containers.htm\">Gardening Know How<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Pick up the cheapest box of diapers you can find at your local big-box store.<\/p>\n<p>Tear open the diaper and pour the contents into a mixing bowl.
