It first appeared on menus back in 1985, before it was suddenly discontinued in November 2020. <\/p>\n<p>The move upset millions of food lovers across the country \u2014 including Parton, who called for the company to put the pizza back.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey used to make a little Mexican Pizza\u2026 I love that,\u201d Parton told <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.insider.com\/dolly-parton-thinks-taco-bell-should-bring-back-mexican-pizza-2022-1\">Insider <\/a>back in January. <\/p>\n<p>When asked whether they should bring it back, the \u201c9 to 5\u201d songstress enthusiastically told the publication: \u201cI think they should!\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>\n<p>The new musical appears to have been inspired by Parton\u2019s interview \u2014 which caught the attention of Taco Bell execs. <\/p>\n<p>And the country music queen is so influential that the franchise has agreed to bring the Mexican Pizza back to stores all over the US. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile rumors of the Mexican Pizza\u2019s return have been swirling for months, it hasn\u2019t been publicly confirmed until now,\u201d Taco Bell <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.today.com\/food\/restaurants\/mexican-pizza-taco-bell-returning-rcna24652\">shared in its statement<\/a> last month, revealing the item will be back from May 19. <\/p>\n<p>Parton herself is keeping rather tight-lipped about the new satirical musical, simply sharing a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CdVpQSuuw2-\/\">photo of a script<\/a> with her five million Instagram fans on Monday. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/03\/Dolly-Parton.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"On Monday, Parton took to Instagram to share a photo of the musical's script. Last week, the icon made a guest appearance on \u201cGrace and Frankie,\u201d and she recently released her own novel titled \u201cRun, Rose, Run.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Taco Bell isn\u2019t the first food company to create a musical. Back in 2019, \u201cSix Feet Under\u201d star Michael C.
