Over the next eight years, she found a staggering 94 (and counting) fair-haired brothers and sisters \u2014 and one man at the root of their sordid family tree.\u00a0They all shared a father, fertility doctor Donald Cline. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s disgusting,\u201d said Ballard, now 43, in new <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/signup\">Netflix <\/a>documentary, \u201cOur Father,\u201d out May 11.\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s almost like we\u2019re like this perfect Aryan clan \u2026 Most of us have blond hair and blue eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/Our_Father_Stills_3.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Ballard discovered that infertility Dr. Donald Cline was her biological father after a police-issued DNA proved her paternity. \" class=\"wp-image-22194570\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/Our_Father_Stills_3.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1536 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/Our_Father_Stills_3.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/Our_Father_Stills_3.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Ballard discovered that fertility doctor Donald Cline was her biological father after a police-issued DNA test proved her paternity. <\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Netflix<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In the film, directed by Lucie Jourdan of \u201cTaken at Birth\u201d fame, Ballard and a handful of her siblings theorize that breeding an all-white brood in an effort to preserve the Caucasian race may have been Cline\u2019s motivation for wrongfully impregnating hordes of his patients with his own sperm.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s disgusting to sit there and lay in bed at night, wondering if the person that created you is some racist bigot,\u201d said Ballard of Cline, now 84. He retired in 2009, but carried out his transgressions from his Indianapolis offices during the late 1970s and early \u201880s without repercussions. <\/p>\n<p>However, in 2016, Cline <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.indystar.com\/story\/news\/2017\/08\/27\/when-you-find-out-your-mothers-fertility-doctor-ithe-doctor-helped-women-conceive-but-he-lied-them-h\/577701001\/\">lied to investigators with the Indiana attorney general\u2019s office<\/a>, claiming he never used his own sperm to inseminate a patient. But, thanks to a sympathetic judge and a lack of criminal history, he ended up not serving any jail time and simply paying a $500 fine. <\/p>\n<p>He couldn\u2019t be criminally charged with rape or battery, explains former Marion County, Ind., prosecutor Tim Delaney in the doc, because, \u201cAt the end of the day, there\u2019s just no crime that touches this particular act [in the eyes of the law],\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>Although Cline reigns as the \u201cmost prolific\u201d US physician to wrongfully inseminate patients with his semen, he is hardly alone. In 1982, she had no clue that her infertility specialist \u2014 then lauded as one of \u201cthe best\u201d in the field \u2014 had somehow discarded her husband\u2019s sperm sample and used his own to impregnate her. <\/p>\n<p>But years later, when a 23andMe match and a DNA test proved that her daughter and Ballard were blood relatives, and the truth of Cline\u2019s trickery came out, it nearly destroyed Kiesler\u2019s family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI [told my husband], \u2018Unfortunately, Dr. Cline didn\u2019t use your sperm, he used his own. So, we\u2019re just now finding out that Julie is not yours,\u2019\u201d Kiesler recalled. Her devastated spouse howled, \u201cHe\u2019s taken everything away from me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ballard\u2019s mother, Debbie Pierce, sought Cline\u2019s help with getting pregnant in 1979, after it was determined that her husband couldn\u2019t have children naturally. But years later, owing to Ballard\u2019s initial 23andMe findings, it became clear that the rule had been broken.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFinding out that I had siblings was amazing,\u201d Ballard admitted. \u201cBut there\u2019s eight of us, what\u2019s going on here?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After confirming that she and Harmon were half sisters, the pair connected with their half brother Matt White through the online biology database. <\/p>\n<p>His mom Liz was unknowingly injected with Cline\u2019s semen 15 times before she finally became pregnant. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s just too f\u2013ked up.
