\n Workers linked to Joe Biden\u2019s campaign are quietly preparing a ballroom in downtown Wilmington, Del., for an event as the former vice president is poised to announce his running mate and accept the Democratic nomination, according to a report Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The workers were spotted entering the side door of the Hotel Du Pont, where Biden announced his 1972 Senate bid, but remained tight-lipped about what they were doing.<\/p>\n

\u201cCan\u2019t tell you,\u201d one of them told the New York Times when asked near midnight Tuesday why they were working late.<\/p>\n

The workers app<\/a>eared to be from BNY Production, a frequent vendor for the Biden campaign, the news<\/a>paper reported, citing Federal Election Commission records.<\/p>\n

A truck from Wizard Studios, an event production company that has also worked for the campaign, was parked outside the hotel Monday.<\/p>\n

The ballroom was outfitted in purple and blue lighting and screens had been placed under the chandeliers.<\/p>\n

The Biden campaign did not comment to the Times about the preparations.<\/p>\n

Biden is expected to accept the Democratic presidential nomination in a virtual speech next Thursday.<\/p>\n

His announcement of a running mate reportedly could come any day.<\/p>\n
