Tuccille<\/a>. Inflation \u201cat least partly\u201d stems from officials \u201cattempting to \u2018help\u2019 us through the disruptions of the pandemic and mandated lockdowns.\u201d Yet such \u201ctinkering\u201d only opens the door to more tinkering as the \u201csituation deteriorates\u201d \u2014 offering \u201cauthoritarians\u201d another chance to exploit the public. Example: Sen. Liz Warren wants to penalize companies to stop \u201ccorporate gouging,\u201d yet that\u2019s \u201cless likely\u201d to lower prices than reduce the availability of goods. \u201cWhen politicians break the economy, they hurt us in the short term but also create future opportunities to do harm in the name of undoing the damage they inflicted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conservative: Dems\u2019 MAGA Scapegoat<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cDemocrats are facing backlash for driving a radical <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social<\/a> agenda and are lining up to take the most extreme position on abortion in their history. So, naturally the real enemy is the sudden emergence of the so-called \u2018ultra-MAGA\u2019 crowd,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2022\/may\/13\/the-ultra-maga-monster-mirage\/\">snarks Tom Basile at The Washington Times<\/a>. \u201cThe attacks .\u2009.\u2009. will continue because Democrats have nothing else to say.\u201d But it won\u2019t work: Last \u201cweek every Democrat senator but one voted to codify the most extreme view of abortion ever conceived,\u201d even as most Americans \u201cdon\u2019t support late-term abortion.\u201d The Dems\u2019 gambit \u201cis a road that ends in an electoral cliff. It\u2019s not about women or life or rights or reality. It\u2019s about radical social engineering and political calculus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Neocon: The Left\u2019s (Pointless) War on Language<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe left\u2019s supposed dominance\u201d on abortion, \u201can issue they hope will deliver them from the edge of an electoral abyss,\u201d is \u201cbetrayed by liberals and progressives who don\u2019t know how to talk about abortion anymore,\u201d<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.commentary.org\/noah-rothman\/why-the-left-thinks-it-can-change-your-mind-by-changing-the-language\/\"> argues Noah Rothman at Commentary<\/a>. Witness \u201cmessaging materials provided to House Democrats\u201d on the expected Supreme Court reversal of Roe that remove the word \u201cchoice\u201d in favor of \u201cdecision\u201d and reframe \u201ccon<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">science<\/a> clause\/protections\u201d as \u201crefusal of care\/denial of care.\u201d But \u201cphrases that sacrifice specificity in favor of inclusivity have either had little political effect or have backfired\u201d \u2014 especially \u201cLatinx.\u201d Though \u201cwildly successful at popularizing their preferred speech codes,\u201d the left is \u201csimultaneously losing the policy debates those codes are designed to advance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>From the left: Dem Battle in Brooklyn<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nymag.com\/intelligencer\/2022\/05\/why-the-brooklyn-democratic-party-is-at-war-with-itself.html\">New York magazine\u2019s Errol Louis chats <\/a>with Brooklyn Democratic chair \u201cRodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn, the first woman ever to lead the Kings County Democratic organization,\u201d who\u2019s \u201ceager to duke it out with the growing group of reformers trying to topple her\u201d as the New Kings Democrats try to win control in June 28 district-leader elections. One issue: her move to influence who gets polling-site jobs, which \u201ccan easily pay $500 or more for a few days of not terribly difficult work.\u201d But \u201cthe county organization controls nominations to civil and Supreme Court judgeships, which are substantial and powerful positions.\u201d And \u201cHermelyn comes to the fight with the attitude once voiced by the late Meade Esposito, the cigar-chomping County leader who famously said that \u2018today\u2019s reformer is tomorrow\u2019s hack.\u2019\u200a\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Abortion desk: Where\u2019s America\u2019s Middle?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cGermany, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark \u2014 what do these countries have in common? They limit abortion on demand to fifteen weeks\u2019 gestation or earlier, albeit with exceptions,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/streaklinks.com\/BDLAcXjo6Mvai6gcew_oSBgS\/https%3A%2F%2Fspectatorworld.com%2Ftopic%2Fabortion-and-the-great-american-middle%2F\">notes Richard Koenig at Spectator World<\/a>. 15 weeks \u201cis the restriction in the Mississippi law, excepting a \u2018medical emergency\u2019 or a \u2018severe fetal abnormality,\u2019\u2009\u201d that\u2019s \u201cbefore the Supreme Court in Dobbs v. Jackson\u201d \u2014 the case whose draft-opinion leak sparked protests nationwide. \u201cIn Europe, limitations as to when abortion becomes illegal <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>ly range from ten weeks (Portugal) to eighteen weeks (Sweden).\u201d \u201cWhere\u2019s the middle in America?\u201d Well, in \u201cpolls from 1996 to 2018, Gallup found majorities supporting a general right to abortion in the first trimester and opposing that right in the second.\u201d \u201cAs in Europe, most people here would like to find a compromise.\u201d <\/p>\n<p><em>\u2014 Compiled by The Post Editorial Board<\/em>\n                        <\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
