She never had the power in the relationship to be abusive to him,\u201d Fox, 33, commented on Instagram amid Heard and Depp\u2019s ongoing defamation trial in Fairfax, Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDid she hit him? Yes. Was it abuse? No. You need to have power to be able to abuse it. She was 25. He clearly was always way more powerful including physically and financially.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While it\u2019s unclear where Fox made the comment on Instagram, screenshots of the comment have been widely circulated on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a>; Perez Hilton <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CdoyizvoEVK\/\">reposted her alleged comments<\/a> while one tweet captioned \u201cWe Love Julia Fox,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/shesaheathen\/status\/1525354308812021760?s=20&amp;t=j8zJginLnGpojTsbil-d2Q\">earned <\/a>nearly 25,000 likes and over 2,000 retweets.<\/p>\n<p>The Post has reached out to Fox for comment.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"\/>\n<p>Critics were quick to hit back at her, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AubreyODay\/status\/1525680291825692672?s=20&amp;t=0cuza5Fzn9a7T-V7f7hpUw\">namely singer-songwriter Aubrey O\u2019Day<\/a>, who called it a \u201ctrash take.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlenty of broke, short, skinny, non-famous people have abused their partner,\u201d she tweeted in response. \u201cAbuse is simply cruel and violent treatment of a person.. power not being a necessary factor. less powerful ppl abuse their more powerful partner out of jealousy all the time.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"embed-wrapper twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">trash take from Julia Fox. plenty of broke, short, skinny, non-famous people have abused their partner. Abuse is abuse,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TBLN_X\/status\/1525959200584650753?s=20&amp;t=g_0fyEgPaUG9c-9fHp44gQ\">tweeted another user<\/a>. \u201cStop justifying it when it suits a narrative. I don\u2019t think a lot of ppl don\u2019t understand what abusive relationships actually look like. Julia Fox put it well tbh,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TaylorLorenz\/status\/1525860424008146944?s=20&amp;t=z6H_pc7iG9YWaBS8K8HGdQ\">the Washington Post writer tweeted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Fox is no stranger to the controversial limelight, as she sprang to pop culture relevance after <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2022\/03\/20\/julia-fox-backtracks-comments-saying-kanye-west-is-harmless\/?_ga=2.58324842.1715942905.1652790895-359825524.1649169983\">dating rapper Kanye West following his divorce<\/a>. Since then, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=&amp;cad=rja&amp;uact=8&amp;ved=2ahUKEwib6Pix2-b3AhVTj4kEHaQjC_EQFnoECAcQAQ&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fpagesix.com%2F2022%2F02%2F17%2Fjulia-fox-comments-on-uncut-gems-tiktoks-i-was-stoned%2F&amp;usg=AOvVaw1JvaknPuN8X7HrSMbchFD5\">her voice went viral on TikTok <\/a>and she was spotted in <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2022\/05\/16\/julia-fox-goes-grocery-shopping-in-underwear-and-denim-boots\/?_ga=2.58324842.1715942905.1652790895-359825524.1649169983\">lingerie while running errands this week<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Depp is suing Heard for defamation for $50 million over a 2018 Washington Post op-ed penned by Heard. While the piece didn\u2019t name Depp explicitly, she dubbed herself a \u201cpublic figure representing domestic abuse,\u201d alluding to Depp allegedly abusing her. According to the lawsuit, Depp claims the accusations cost him millions of dollars in work and damaged his reputation.
